The Law of the Jungle

victory is mine :goodjob:

Now according to the rules everyone on the gems must toil for me (except Joatzli) as the second turn is reserved for toiling for the overlord.

meanwhile aforementioned overlord will train XP to level 2.

Now according to the rules everyone on the gems must toil for me (except Joatzli) as the second turn is reserved for toiling for the overlord.

Just to be more clear, each tenant's toiling is turned over to the citizen that owns the hex at the moment that the tenant's action is resolved.

@Yahzuk. NP, I was just saying that since the second turn is reserved for compulsary toiling (for tenants) presumably the products of that toiling would henceforth be mine.

@SmugKitteh. I wouldn't whip tenants, whipping is for slaves [I saw what you wrote ;) ]. I will as promised avoid unnecessary oppression of my tenants so long as they avoid certain activities that are contrary to the requirements of a good tenant. So for my training I shall practice with my atlatl, with an effigy of Joatzli as the target to increase my XP :p

If I toil, would the fruit of my work then go to Ahuitzotl or to me?

Well you aren't forced to toil for me this second half of the turn so presumably it would go to yourself to sustain you in your poverty and prevent you and your house from starving to a most ignoble death.

Toil.

Ahuitzotl reclined and slowly ate figs proferred upon him by a servant. For looking down from his manor on the hill, across the fields of maize and in the diamond fields, toiled the various tenants of his land, recently acquired from the unworthy Joatzli in an honourable challenge, and this site Ahuitzotl savoured.

The challenge itself wasn't too difficult, for Joatzli was a cowardly fool, calling upon the great Huitzilopochtli to do his dirty work for him! The nerve, all know the war god favours those who stand triumphant on their own in combat. Thus when the challenge came the weak Joatzli folded like a house of cards before the glory of Chacultepec. But the prize indeed was most fine indeed, for the gem field lay at his feet to be worked in the name of Chacultepec, and many tenants and servants now worked under the rod of Ahuitzotl.

The servant Axolotl, entered the presence of his lord

-

"My Lord, a letter has arrived from the Tlatoani recognising your victory in lawful challenge over the *spit* House of Tehuantepec."

"Yes, send word back to the honourable Tlatoani that the House of Chacultepec kneels before him, and acknowledges his supremacy over all the lands of Tenochtitlan, the glory of Aztlan"

"In addition to this my lord, reports from the tithers indicates that toil production is proceeding according to estimates and that we can expect a bountiful tithe this year for House Chacultepec"

"Excellent, excellent, tell the tenants that their lord rewards good service, and that if produce is good and obedience is retained he shall honour one of their number before the gods at the next council"

"It shall be done my lord"

-

Axolotl bowed and departed. Ahuitzotl turned back to savour the panorama of toiling in his lands below, in the knowledge that the toil of the tenants was bound for his table and his coffers and at that thought he smiled and turned to the practice field where an effigy of Joatzli awaited his daily practice.

Then, I toil

Narrative later.

I offer 3 XP as a sacrifice to Hutzilopochtli, the God of War, whom we celebrate in festival this session.

I assume the random numbers are whole numbers, correct yahzuk?

Tenoch glared at the new ... he supposed the word was noble, but that certainly wasn't how he would choose to describe it. Regardless, he toiled... for now.

Less grumbling, more toiling :p

No, why would you assume that?
In all of my games (Random Number) has always been a randomly generated number between 0 and 1.
Well, as far as I'm concerned, random numbers haven't ever mattered that much in regards to game actions. (Assassinations almost never happened in CotE, and never did in AMPU).

Ah well, I'm satisfied with that.

From the Journals of Sparthage the Elder:
Training was the hardest thing I have done in my life. For hours each day, I worked to strenghten my entire body to perfection. I have not achieved perfection yet, but I am now the physically strongest man in the Aztec Empire by far. Only the gods are stronger than me, and I have no aspirations to best them.

Although I could use my newfound strength for many purposes, I will instead use it to thank the gods. I will make an offering of my strength to Hutzilopochtli, the God of War. May he bless my house with fortune and with the strength to kill all who stand in our way.
