Yes this is my thing now. I get berated daily pretty much about my "leftist" positions. Meanwhile I'm still a capitalist. I still believe in private property. I still love the idea of small businesses in principle. I never get berated by "centrists" on that only on education for all kids worthy up through college (worthy means shows aptitude and desire for college or post secondary level work) and healthcare is a human right in the 21st century. I have to compromise with ICE and caging kids though. It really is laughable and why I think the Overton window is way to far right in the US.
I had a friend the other day going on about how the hostel she stayed in in Germany was covered in crazy leftists. I replied "omg you actually met a real communist you mean?". That is the state of US left/right discourse, at least in the midwest.
If you compromise with the GOP you are already compromising with racists and that is what you are advocating for currently, so own it and take it on the chin Rah.
It's not about the compromise as much as the arrogance that you can't possibly ever be wrong. This breeds contempt and eliminates any chance for respect or showing dignity. I'm not saying that you should compromise with racists. But there are things that will require compromise that will never get done without it. Like health care or immigration rules.

I held my nose and voted for the compromise candidate and will so again if it comes to that. I support Warren because I think she has the best policies for moving America into the 21 century since imo it is still very much stuck in the 20th. Does that make me a leftist? It's really strange being called a leftist since I spent much of my life as a centrist. I've just given up on it actually solving problems. Planet needs a hero now, not 20 years form now.

I'm open to the idea, does a centrist of your ilk have an answer for any of these things in the way of compromise? Honestly I'm not hearing anything policy wise coming form the center or the right. I know they are drafting an immigration bill in the republican senate offices, supposedly 600 pages and cursory evidence sounds likes it is 600 pages of "Build the Wall".
I lean more towards beefed up Obama care over medicare for all.
More lenient immigration with a path to citizenship but not open borders.
Subsidized college for the needy, not total forgiveness.
