The many questions-not-worth-their-own-thread question thread XV

they are like guinea pigs, only bigger.

I remember reading about them in a book I really liked as a young lad and old (even in the'80's) one about a family of jaguars, the patriarch of them being wholly black.

I forget the name of the book exactly, though I read it to bits.

I've been thinking recently to change my user name (assuming the mods allow me to). Should I? (if anything it would be changed to: Rvrtranz- which is what I use for everything else..:mischief:)

Zelet is pronounceable. Rvrtranz isn't. :)

Capybaras are damned cool.

But rare. Which is why their discussion is also rare.

Does anyone know where the Rhye's and Fall of Civilization menu theme is from? Thanks in advance.

I listened to the song, but I didn't seem to find the part that had that music.

How come Scotland doesn't have a national anthem?

There's Scotland the Brave, much beloved of bagpipe players throughout the Isles.

Isn't Scotland still part of the UK? I dunno if that has something to do with it. And I think some countries don't have national anthems for whatever reasons, including bureaucratic red tape, lack of agreement on a choice, and so forth.

Scotland is still an inextricable part of the UK. England has a couple of national songs, such as Land of Hope and Glory, but we don't really have national anthems for our sub-national units. :)

Well, I know that there is ongoing debate in the Scottish parliament about officially declaring a national anthem. Candidates are Flower of Scotland, land of hope and glory and other songs, but I was more interested in why they didn't have one. Did they give up on their anthem when they were incorporated in the UK?

I have absolutely no idea. I don't even know when God Save the King/Queen was adopted. :)
