Back in the Eighties we had the three-day week (to save money paying wages instead of laying people off); perhaps some countries have a similar 4-day week?

So why is it the U.S. uses the Secret Service of all government agencies to investigate counterfeit money? That always seemed strange to me. What does that have to do with protecting presidents and the like?

The secret service was originaly designed to investigate counterfeit money. After McKinley was assasinated people decided it was high time to start protecting our president better. At the time the prez didn't have many law enforcement agencies under his control (the secret service had been expanded to include almost everything as the Federal Marshalls couldn't investigate every federal crime) so congress requested the SS to take up the job of protecting the prez.
