I don't know about you people but i've been living under a rock (actually in front of civ3), but anyways i found out in some magazine that The Matrix Reloaded (2) and The Matrix Revolutions (3) are BOTH coming out this year. Reloaded in May and Revolutions in november. Also possibly on the same day as #2 comes out a video game. I can't wait for people have dubbed 2003 as "The year of The Matrix":D

I thought the first movie was great and had a good storyline/idea behind it. But at the end of that first movie, he/Keynawnoo/Neo was essentially God in his Matrix world. Friend of mine said that's what the problem is. That's why it took them so long to come out with the new movies. They didn't know what the hell to do! I dunno how good the sequels really CAN be. Sure the effects will be neato torpedo. But Neo can do anything now. What will be the theme of the movies?

I suspect the Matrix will be "reloaded" with a new format in which to battle. One which will limit Neo's powers significantly.

The Matrix articles were in this weeks Newsweek.

Everyweek my class gets a Newsweek magazine for social studies class to read up on what is going on in the world. Today I walked into class and saw a picture of Neo on the cover and the frontpage headline reads 'Year of the Matrix'. I immediately went to the matrix article. It basically previews the upcoming movies and talks about how revolutionary the matrix series is to the big screen. The article talked about a chase scene on a freeway that is supposed to use mindblowing new special effect techniques. It also said Matrix Reloaded the second movie is going to have an abrupt cliffhanger ending setting up the plot for the third movie Matrix Revolutions. The article only made me want to see the movies more. :)

I'm very curious about this too. Won't one of the new movies simply take place more in the real world? Trying to get things back in the hands of humans again? Perhaps we'll see what Zion looks like. :D

If memory serves, the Wachowski brothers (the writing and directing team of The Matrix) originally envisioned the story to be three movies. But I can't remember if the movie studio actually signed on to make a total of three movies before or after the first one came out.

Although I'm not really sure about the plot elements of the next two movies, I'm pretty sure that there was always the intent to make a trilogy.

I heard somewhere that in the Matrix Reloaded the agents are more powerfull so Neo will probanly be pushed harder. More special effects and action, I think. I can't wait....:)

Maybe it'll end up like the ALIEN series... 1st one the best, second almost as good (in a different kinda way) and 3rd one crap.

hey! what about the fourth one? ;)

I really liked the first one, so I'm anxious to see what tehy've come up with. I saw a teaser some months ago, but that didn't reveal much except that they had swords. A short synopsis of the plot for Reloaded plus links for trailers and teasers can be found here.

Don't forget that both sequels will be graced by the divine Monica Belluci.

From the looks of it, 2003 could be a great movie year. We have two Matrix movies, Terminator 3 (link to trailer here) and as a Christmas present, The Return of the King. :)

I've always regreted the release of the Matrix. It's not that I don't like the film itself, it's because just about every pretentious director since has copied the camera trickery wholesale and I'm starting to hate it.

when I go to see Two Towers I saw the trailer of the next matrix, I really dont know which will be the argument but it looked great.
indeed, at the end of the secodn movie they left the posibility for a secuelw

Ah, yes. I dunno about that one. It had a few good twists, and was better than the third. Apparently, Sigourney Weaver was pissed off with that one as it left the story open for another sequel! :crazyeye:

But at the end of that first movie, he/Keynawnoo/Neo was essentially God in his Matrix world
matrix is about jesus..

the names and their meanings-

Neo - Greek Neos means "new" for new savior
Morpheus - Greek god of dreams roots from Morphnos - darkness dark is his clothing
Trinity - Trinity.. the "three thingy one thing" thing, i'm sorry i'm not christian, so..
Nebuchadnezzar(Morpheus' ship) - Babylonian king who conquered Judaea and chased jews out of jerusalem
Scion(the last human city) - nickname of Jerusalem

The programmer of the Matrix is Moses
Oracle is Yeramia(sp?)
Morpheus is John
Trinity is someone Maria
Crew are apostles
Cypher is judas

in the beginning, the guy who buys something from neo says
"Hallelujah, You're my savior, man. My own personal Jesus Christ"

god made humans of clay and gave life into them
machines grow humans and gave virtual reality into them

and i don't really know a lot about life of jesus, but the part where Neo falls into water during his release represents baptising

and that's why neo has to die once then come back to life, and that's also why neo flys at the very end

some interesting non-jesus matrix stuff:

1. Carrie-Anne Moss (Trinity) played Liz Teel in the TV series "Matrix" (1993).

2. In the movie Higher Learning (1995), Laurence Fishburne(Morpheus)'s first sentence was: "Welcome to the real world."

3. As Neo runs through the old lady's apartment near the end of the film, we see an image on the TV of a menacing man in a black suit coat. The image is that of one of the Number 2's from the TV show "Prisoner".

4. All of the references to street corners (e.g. Wells and Lake) are real intersections in Chicago, USA, the Wachowski brothers' hometown.

5. Check out the room numbers for Trinity and Neo. When the cops bust in on Trinity in the opening scene the number is 303 ("trinity," 3) and since Neo is The One, the number of his apartment is 101.

6. Names of people and objects have historical significance, all related to dreams and illusions. For example, "Morpheus" (film character) was named for the Greek god of sleep and dreams; and "Nebuchadnezzar" (hovercraft in film) was a biblical king who was visited by troubling dreams.

7. Neo is an anagram for One.

8. Anderson means "Son of Man," as Jesus is often called.

9. Coincidentally (or not), Matrix, Trinity, Morpheus, 303 and 101 are all models of music synthesizer (from various manufacturers).

10. All of the good guys (Morpheus, Trinty, Neo, etc.) in the movie wear round or oval sunglasses. All of the bad guys (the agents, Cypher) wear square or rectangular sunglasses.

11. The license plate number of the Agents' car is 70858.

12. Before filming, the principal actors spent four months with martial arts experts, learning very complicated fight moves.

KoRnEa,

Did you get this information from somewhere or was this your own creation?

Because if the "coincidences" were not intentially created by the Wachowski brothers (who wrote the script), then it sounds like a lot of that stuff is like the "similarities" between the assassinations of JFK and Lincoln.

i got all of them from web.. not a really reliable medium, but it wasn't my creation... and btw, the matrix is based on a japanese cartoon and i've heard the wachowski brother wanted to make the movie as close to the cartoon as possible, so it may not be a total garbage theory..
