Some time ago I was playing MOO2 and decided to make my home planet a farming colony, which then supplied the food to my whole empire. Other planets in the star system were quite good production/science colonies. I didn't yet have the terraforming tech, so there wasn't many good other farming planets.

Then, random event pops up and spacetime anomaly begins in my home star system. All colonies are unable to produce anything. Food indicator in the main screen displays about -40. And this lasted about 20 turns. You can guess how the population responded.

So, tell about your experiences on annoying events.

In MOO2, I had just conquered Orion and got Admiral Loknar. I had to give up another leader to have room for him. About four or five turns later, a random event pops up which destroys the Avenger and kills Loknar.

The most annoying thing I had happen in MOO3 was trying to play the game.

I've had all these things happen to me too.

Normally something like that would upset me, but random events are fair in Moo2 - so I just try to stick it out.

My worst experience was Moo3.

Happened to me some days ago on MoO2.
A very small universe, 4 AI players with me.

At some points i had 4 systems , the other AI had more 2 systems each and i was near to eradicate one of the AI by bombing them (Orion had not been conquered yet).
Then an election happened, surprise, my opponent in the election got all the votes and was elected.

A surprise for me so early in the game, but i thought i should be able to overthrow the new galaxy ruler as i had 4 systems.
But guess what, my fleet was destroyed at the first battle (at my big surprise as from my scouting, i had better technologies before the election) then blockades and planetary bombing made the galaxy ruler definitively the winner of the game.

First time such a situation (early galaxy ruler elected) occurs to me so fast (as i said , no one had enough power to conquer Orion).

I'm giving Moo3 a go (I loved Moo1 and 2), playing Humans in my first game, have spent the last two weekends playing, got to turn 180 or so, and now it doesn't want to save (that's to say, I saved the game, but when reloaded, it was an old turn)!! ARGH! I'm all the way back to turn 134! Got so mad!!

I wanna play Moo2 again, but don't have it ... hmm, gonna have to go out and hunt it down.

By the way, are they ever going to make a Master of Magic sequel? I loved MoM1 sooo much!
