China has sponsored pro-Chinese rebels in its ally, the Demon Realm.
27 rebel forces rise up in DR.
They lose fighting the 33 DR forces. All the rebels are wiped out, netting +27 to DR's tech.
6 DR armies are killed.
Unfortunately for the DR, they are completely defenseless against air attacks.
China sends 289 air wings in to destroy the DR's army.
First wave of 25 kills 3.
Second wave kills 7.
Third wave kills 5.
Fourth wave kills 3.
Fifth wave kills 6.
Sixth wave kills all remaining DR armies except 1. 10 planes shot down.
Overall, of 289 wings, 143 remain on the defensive. 12 provinces are occupied.
Total death toll, thus far, stands at:
20,000 Chinese soldiers
100,000 DR Civilians
270,000 Chinese-sympathetic rebels
330,000 DR soldiers
.2 Industry has been destroyed in economic damage
India, however, was keeping a close eye on China and so is ready. It issues the following statement:
"As founder and thus leader of the Coalition of Non-aligned Countries, agreeing to the Constitution of the Coalition and in virtue of Article III Section b of said Constitution, the Republic of China is ejected from the Coalition.
In compliment with the same Article III, Section b, Article III, Section a is applied, and thus all members of the Coalition must aid any countries under attack by China.
Following the duty established by said procedure, India declares war on China under the casus belli of unjustified aggression and violation of international treaties and agreements, and orders a full-scale invasion of China and all its territories previous to the declaration of war."

It's definitely one of the best games I've ever played (CoP improved on gameplay, but SHoC was better in every other regard.)

India has directed Kazakhstan and Baluchistan to be ready at a moment's notice.
Kazakhstan and Baluchistan seize 11 provinces that are undefended, weakening China some, but an array of forts and urban centers along the Chinese border prevents further incursion.
Regardless, grouping with Indian forces, they prepare a massive combined air and land assault..
BEEP BEEP. What's that?! Oh. It's just a T1 nuke flying out a silo right into Ind- OH MY GOD! But surely the SDI would defend against this, right?
Wrong - China had nothing to lose from shutting down the SDI network, and so has disabled the network. Each nation's SDI stands alone.
The missile hits. One of India's major cities is destroyed, 160,000 people are killed, and .15 Industry as well. The fallout kills another 10,000 people. A portion of the soldiers and air wings present are also killed. Radiation will clear up in 1 turn.
Total death toll, thus far, stands at:
330,000 DR soldiers
270,000 Chinese-sympathetic rebels
170,000 Indian civilians
140,000 Chinese civilians
100,000 DR Civilians
