The Story Thus Far:

Umm, the Republic did not say "Die Commies".

OOC: Bear with me, guys, I hate quote-walls.

And our army will make sure that China will be united and free!!
Peace by the sword? Now where have we seen this before..?

China is a democracy. The people elect every 4 years the political party they want, to rule China.
Exhibit A: Russian Federation 2012. Elections are meaningless if the democratic tradition itself is not understood and protected, and official government statements have yet to convince us there is any understanding or respect for democracy beyond the most minimal mechanical functions.

Even before our nation expanded, the Chinese were a very large minority ... After we took over a large part of China, the Chinese people became the majority while the Uyghurs a minority. ... Our nation has a new identity now. ... The Christians, from a minority they start to form a majority, and they are the second largest religious group in China. In order to make China a modern European democratic nation, we supported the Pope and the Christian missionaries in their effort to make China a nation under the one and true God.
When will the government cease deluding its people with the lie that the majority can act with impunity? Any administration that ignores the rights of the minority is simply catering to whichever special interest group is most prevalent at the time. You confess that Christianity is only the second-most popular religion; even if we assume this claim is true, state policy clearly demonstrates an arbitrary preference contrary to your much-touted insistence that everything is done by the people's will.

In order to make China a European-Western nation, we must modernize the culture. The Chinese writing system is very difficult, and it needs to change. The Latin letters will make our language easier to learn, and it will modernize China.
We reiterate: why is the government so obsessed with "Westernizing" the country? What does it mean to "modernize" a culture, and why does it need "modernizing" in the first place? Destroying the Chinese literary tradition is the first step to destroying the language entire. You boast of progress, but progress without ethics is doomed to tragedy.

But our army will find your terrorist group, and it will bring it to justice.
Oh, no no no no no. Any notion of Chinese justice was forfeited long ago. We are the judges here.

they threw a grenade on the 3 men, that were running to escape, killing all 3 terrorists and wounding 11 people.
So: another display of disproportionate and reckless use of force. "Glad" to see you've learned from your predecessor.

A new resolution passed, that Mr. Christos should go on trial. Mr. Christos agreed. ... Mr. Christos was let free, and was forced to pay 1 million X
OOC: MIND... FAILING ME!!

Mr. George has made his intentions clear: the new régime is only interested in maintaining democracy by its most basic structural definition, with no regard to instilling the republican spirit to render it competent. China has been granted the illusion of choice, when in reality it is at the mercy of a culturally masochistic, self-serving cabal that aims to completely rewrite history and national identity. Dictatorship unapologetic is rightly reprehensible; dictatorship masquerading as democracy even more so. As parliamentary opposition is either unable or unwilling to bring the ruling party to account, once again we must take up the cause ourselves.

I believe the Communist Party of China is Maoist or Stalinist in ideology, which inherently means that being too liberal - as in, amount of social and legal freedoms - would be VERY in line with Communist ideology for them.

Oh Venny, you want attention to be paid to you?

Well how about this?

Argentina has, under threat of military invasion, submitted to Venezuela.

Such coercion has not gone well with free states, who have, barring being recruited into other alliances via clientisation, formed an alliance to prevent this from happening ever again.

Read: Every single non-client state is now allied.

How's that for talking about you, Venezuela. :p

This alliance of 19 nations is 100% defensive, and is solely meant to deter rogue states such as Venezuela. Oh, speaking of deterrence, any NPCs ideologically opposed to Venezuela, not under the umbrella of a major power, are hereby embargoing Venezuela.

==

Guyana
Sicily
Alaska
Morocco
Milan
Quebec
Genoa
Nigeria

Unless cliented by turn's end, these states will impose an embargo on all Venezuelan goods.

Still need orders from:

-Angola
-Oz
-SRM

Also in retrospect, I'm dissolving the alliance, but the embargoes will remain.

Guyana, Uruguay, Amazonas, and Trinidad have united to form an anti-Venezuelan defense alliance, and will refuse clientisation by Venezuela.

Intimidating NPCs into being clients is now legal, but be warned - nearby states will refuse peaceful clientisation, and if the NPC chooses to reject your offer, invasion will not only increase your RR, but NPCs friendly to their cause will send aid. This includes NPCs that are clients of major powers, unless those major powers forbid it.

Guyana, Uruguay, Amazonas, and Trinidad have united to form an anti-Venezuelan defense alliance, and will refuse clientisation by Venezuela.

Wasn't gonna demand it.

The Pope upon the advice of the college of cardinals (also knowns as the soniot chat crowd) has decided to amend his orders for this turn.

RP info:
Current Dictator-for-life: Kim Jung Su Kim Jong Kysu Haize Aung Jim-tong
Religion: Taoism, local gods.
In Korea, at least, very little of religious significance survived the Cataclysm save several books explaining the way of the Tao. Though many citizens believe in local gods or spirits as well, the overarching way is that of the Tao.

Social: Authoritarian.
As Korea has continued rebuilding, it has become increasingly obvious that the authority, the sovereignty, of a State is supreme & only it can take care of its citizens. Contact with nations such as Hawai'i have only highlighted this prevailing opinion in the populace.

Fiscal: Socialism.

Humanity continues to survive in this hostile new world by coming together. All in Korea share what they have for the good of all, and no one is left out. Contact with the outside world, seeing nations which defy this to them basic principle of survival has only served to raise a tide of anger against the ideals of Capitalism.

Foreign Policy: Interventionist.

The State presently known as the UDPRK only came into being due to the warlord Kim-Sil conquering his neighboring warlords and forging a greater State. When the UDPRK looks out at the wasteland surrounding it, it sees only those who suffer from drought, starvation, and radiation poisoning. Thus, it is the mission of the United Democratic People's Republic of Korea to bring the entire wasteland under the flag of survival and salvation. The average citizen sincerely believes it is the UDPRK's mission to raise the wasteland up from its condition, and those who interfere in this goal are little different from the hideous mutants.

Language: Klingon, Korean, Japanese.

Many of those who survived the Cataclysm were those who prepared for it. An overwhelming majority of those people were Trekkies. Klingon is a commonly spoken tongue, its original roots long forgotten. Japanese is another big one, usually spoken by dwellers on the southern coast near Japan. But the official language for State business is Korean, as that is the tongue the Old Files were found to be written in.

Currency: Stone(1 gram of pure Granite). Pound Stone

Given the recent and consistent crash of the KNP, Korea has switched back to physical Granite. No electronic money now exists in Korea, and business is conducted using only physical currency. The population has faith in Stone, and never really had faith in the KNP.

Business:
The UDPRK announces that the recent economic crash, of which there is absolute and irrefutable evidence it was caused by spies of unknown nationality, probably Hawai'i'an, is but a temporary setback.

Korea's currency is the only one Islamic extremists approve of.

Orders lock in ten hours.

Orders still needed from:

-SRM

Venezuela, Oz and Angola haven't given orders, but their players have posted in the thread and ergo have been counted. :p

In good news, I'm tired and so won't be locking them(as only one player hasn't been counted, this would be legal). I will be going to bed first and doing the actual update tomorrow when I wake up.

Peace by the sword? Now where have we seen this before..?

I want a united China. If the states refuse the diplomatic way, then China shall be united by the blood of our army, of our holy warriors, who fight for China and Christianity.

Exhibit A: Russian Federation 2012. Elections are meaningless if the democratic tradition itself is not understood and protected, and official government statements have yet to convince us there is any understanding or respect for democracy beyond the most minimal mechanical functions.

Democracy is respected.

Most of our people feel like they are Chinese. Chinese is anyone with Chinese education, culture and identity. Also the majority of our population is Chinese.

About Christianity, it will make China a civilized modern western European nation.

Our goal is not to destroy the Chinese language, but to make it better.

So: another display of disproportionate and reckless use of force. "Glad" to see you've learned from your predecessor

That wasnt plan. During the escape of the terrorists, we had to use weapons to stop them. We didnt throw the grenade on the people, but on the terrorists. The wounded people, have been given money by the government.

Do you really think that this will work? Do you think that violence will bring peace? Violence always leads to more violence. Also every start is difficult. You havent given enough time to China to reorganize itself. Yes, there are still problems. And there are still clouds of dictatorship. But he people, and the politicians cant learn democracy in one day. Democracy will be learned in the years to come. Every year China will become more and more a democracy. Instead of waiting, or doing a dialogue, you start armed revolutions and violence. Do you really think that armed revolutions will change something, or that they will not be met by our army? Instead of telling us what do you think it must be done, you create more violence! Democracy, without civilized enough people, cannot exist. If you learn what dialogue is, then return and tell us that we are dictatorship!

- Mr. George
