The nations civs that you want for the next expansion of civ4

Israel.
Srsly, why the hell is it not already there?

It would be fun to see a pissed off King David or David Ben Gurion asking you to convert to the only true religion: Islam, or Taoism. :mischief:

I hope they add Adolf Hitler to the Germany civilization, without him the game is so boooring :/

I think that Hitler should be included in the game as the polish leader; this way we would unify two pointless arguments into one thus saving bandwith for the forums. Even better, eliminate every other leaders and make Hitler the only available leader in game. This way you would play with Hitler the American, Hitler the Chinese, Hitler the Holy roman Emperor, etc.

No no no, I don't agree with you. Hitler is a history, and history=Civilizations. But it was off topic.

The new civs I wanna play are: Baltic Imperium (sorry, I don't know how to call it), Mexic, Australia and Lithuania who was with Poland (long long time ago).

Offensive to whom? Jew haters? As far as I know this game is not distributed in the middle east so there should be no marketing problem.
It may be offensive to those of us who hate people who steal land and water.

And, there are Jews who don't believe in Zionism either.

How about Palestine instead, be more inclusive.

Let the flames begin... haahaa!!!!!!!!

by flames you mean molotov cocktails :P

but how about this for a change, instead of just having thousands of different leaders, why not just choose which traits you have, because, it's you that is the leader. and for the AI, just have a random name generator...

Or the bloomin' Falkland Islands!

No one cares anymore!

This is pure genius!
Empire of the Falkland Islands
Rulers: Rex Hunt (Gov. during the war; Protective, Hapless) or Leopoldo Galtieri (President of Argentina at the time; Aggressive, Expansionist)
Capital: Stanley
Other cities: None?
UU: Sheep Warrior (like the Dog Warrior, but with a woollen sweater; +50% strength on tundra and snow due to extra insulation)
UB: Sheep farm (replaces stable, +2 health from sheep)

I'm against including Israel. The reason is simple: beyond being the first monotheistic society that ended up being the foundation for Christianity and Islam, what did they actually do? Not much. The Jews were always the backwards and unimportant citizens of the northern Middle East, usually conquered by others or fighting amongst themselves. If Christianity and Islam had never taken off, the Jews would've been resigned to the dustbin of history as a quaint weird little people who had a particularly odd belief system. Racially, they weren't much different from their neighbors and the only reason you have racial distinctiveness today, after the diaspora, is due to centuries of persecution.

Israel gave us ICQ!

Anyway, back on topic: How about Atlantis! Or Mu!

:P?

Or Taiwan and Tibet, so we can get the game banned in China!

Or North Korea and South Korea, since we have the Holy Roman Empire and the Byzantine Empire. The North Korean leader would be Kim Jung Il, and the South Korean leader would be Zeratul!

Or Kazahkstan.... *must... hold back... Borat joke.....*

Or... or... the Minoans! And their leader could have a giant bull head!

Incidentally, am I the only one here who had never EVER heard of the Khmer before he bought BTS?

I knew them as the Southeast Asian barbarian state in Rise of Nations... and as some form of inspiration for the Khmer Rouge. :(

There are only three leader trait combinations unassigned:

Charismatic + Creative
Industrious + Philosophical
Organized + Protective

Assuming there is only supposed be one leader per combo, and knowing that no combo is really "verboten" (proof: Boudicca's Aggressive + Charismatic combo), then there can only be 3 new civs or just 3 new leaders or something inbetween. But...

If a new leader trait were added to the game that would raise the number of combinations from 55 to 66. We have "only" 52 leaders right now; but I think 66 leaders could be both interesting - and perhaps cumbersome - how much choice does everyone want before things get out of hand? I dunno but at some point it all becomes spam... :p

Adding new leaders is one thing, and there's certainly room for some more, but more civs and their UBs and their UUs? I think we are near the very end of what is reasonable/viable in the context of 6000 years of global history.

Some suggestions to "wrap things up":
1) Add a host of leaderheads for some civs, like the Celts and the Native Americans, that represent different tribes in different regions at different times in their respective histories. That fills tons of gaps without wading through tedious specifics that most people won't care about.
2) Add the Goths as a civ under the same logic that Celts and NA civs are in the game; have 3 LHs for the Goths, one for before they split, and then one for the Ostrogoths, and one for the Visigoths.
3) Add Poland and Hungary. With 2) above Europe is saturated
4) Add one new leader for the Arabs, China, Japan, Rome, Spain, and the Vikings (renaming the Vikings as the Scandanavians).
5) At least 3 more generic naval units: tramp steamer (push the landingcraft unit into a special coastal-unit-only catagory), a sail+steam ship of the 1800s, and WWI "dreadnought", and maybe a WWII cruiser?
6) Add the Pacific Islanders (Polynesians) under the same logic as Native Americans, and add 3 or 4 leaders of reknown for the main island cultures found across the Pacific.
7) Add one more civic to each catagory of civics. There's room and there are viable good ideas out there. :)
8) Add a new leader trait: Adventurous - for those leaders who were courageous in times of peace and exploration. All naval units start with Navigation I, Scouts and Explorer's start with Sentry in addition to their other attributes; Observatories and Stables are at double production speed.
9) Add Ancient Israel, The Kongo, Burma/Siam, and the Hittites...
10) And finally, add the legendary civs of Atlantis, Amazonia, Hyborea, and one or two others - with the default setting that they are not normally available unless you open the Custom Game screen and select them! So those players who do not want to see too much fiction in their game won't have to do anything special to avoid these civs.

Of course, now I am betting another expansion isn't likely so all this talk is probably just moot... But fodder for modders!

On a serious note: It would be really, really cool if there were a number of different barbarian Civs. You could have e.g. the Goths, the Huns, the Visigoth etc. all with their own UUs and leader traits.

Seiously, people. There are tons of mods out there that add almost every civ anyone's ever demanded should have been in the game. Considering the questionable quality of some of the leaders, units & graphics etc. in BtS, the modded stuff would blend in fine.

What BtS content do you consider questionable?

I'm inclined to say "add a new trait, then give us more leaders and unique content for each civ." Seriously, I would much rather have Charles V/Carlos I or Harun Al-Rashid in the game than have Turkmenistan or Moldova as playable civs.

How about.....

The Land of Oz Leader Queen Dorothy/ Traits Red, Shoe/ UB Yellow Road/UU Winged Monkeys

Bikini Bottom Leader King Spongebob/Traits Yellow, Square/ UB Krusty Krab/ UU Fish

Hollywood Emperor Cruise/ Traits Rich, Aggressive/ UB Paris Hilton's Jail/UU Paris Hilton

The Kingdom of Nuclear Monkeys Emperor Nuclear Monkeys IV/Traits Glowly, Radioactive/UB Nuclear Banana Shop/ UU Uraniumiun enriched Monkeys

Better additions

De Gaulle uses Napoleon's music (and Churchill and Stalin use Victoria's and Peter's respectively, but that's Warlords), one (or many) of the new leaders (I forget whom exactly, I think it's De Gaulle again) use the same animations as old leaders, most (all?) of the new unit icons (i.e. buttons) are mod-esque in-game screenshots rather than icons in the style of the original Civ4 units, Sid's voiceovers for the new techs sound poorly recorded compared to Nimoy's, and the very fact that the corporations are severely broken and that the espionage system hasn't been properly thought out all go to show that this expansion was rushed and lazilly put-together. Don't get me wrong, what's good in it is very good, but I just expected a little more consistency and quality considering it is an official expansion rather than a fan-made modification.

The voice overs are a shame, but not game killing. I agree that it could be a good idea to make a fan-made unit icon pack in the style of the "original" Civ 4 icons.

Mechanics-wise I'm sure everything will work out after the next patch.
