The NES Wiki - Get Wiki With It

I, for one, find the Wiki useful, both for learning about the strategies of other NESers, reading about past NESes I didn't get to participate in, learning more about tactical strategies, etc. If full summaries of NESes can be written and added, that will only increase the appeal.

Obviously an infant, newly created wiki isn't going to be that appealing or useful without content. With enough promotion and support, however, it will eventually thrive.

I plan on adding and contributing to articles in the future, too.

You can't make people want things, unless you're an advertiser.

Say, guys, what's the difference between "Requested Articles" and "Wanted Pages"? I think they mean THE SAME THING :O

Oh. Well, you know, to the layperson (me), they kind of seem similar. Like, ya know, synonyms of each other, and such. But still, I should think that Wanted Pages would be a subset of Requested Pages, since I would like to see all the pages with a number of interlinks aimed at them created.

But, oh well, whatever, I'll just continue editing for grammar and all that.

I'm interested. I'm going to start adding the first NES each person joined, and the date they joined, to the individual pages.

I will type of a summary for my NES after I finish my stats and rule sets. Maybe we could add a Current NESes section with links and descriptions.

Sorry I have not been following this much. Holidays have been a bit hectic. I have also been devoting most of my current NESing time to writing and developing new rules as well as editing my stats to adapt to the new rules.

Most NESes have slowed down or completely halted right now due to the time of the season. This thread has been recently started so I am sure there will be more additions to the site once the Holdiday Season comes to a close.

Or maybe we are just lazy :)

Who the hey seems to think I'm from Virginia? I didn't realize there was a Bay Area, California, Virginia :p

Though I've done my part of expanding my page, Amon Savag's page, and adding GoobNES01 to the list of legendary NESes.

And are people going to start creating summaries of the famous NESes, with pages all to their own?

Well I am working on the guide and generaly discovering this whole Wiki format thing.

Symp what do you think of that NES directory idea? Not every NES, but those who were popular/long could be included with short summaries (as it was already mentioned) so that people could go to threads and just read.

Well in that case I'd like to hear what others think about "NES Directory" on the Wiki idea....

hmm.. I just read what was said about me.. Am I really known for my aggressiveness or for my paranoia :p?

Anyway, I'm not really good at writing stuff like that, but if old NESes histories would be entered I'll edit mistakes and such if needed...

Only if English isn't your native language. ¿Hablas Español, Josef? :p

¡Claro que sí! ¿Dudas que yo hable el español? Es mi primer idioma.

As for all the crazy stuff you guys know how to do with wikipedia, I'm just copy and pasting it for use in mine. Don't have no experience with that stuff in the past.
