Spoiler NFME :
The climate Change, Ye Gods, THE CLIMATE CHANGE!!!
Perhaps we should try for a little more restraint with all these Island Creations? :p There will soon be an appocalypse of Floods, Redirected Currents, ect if we don't.

My Visions are somewhat disturbing me right now...

DT
Troubled

"WHAT?! THE EMPEROR DEFIED ME?! HE SHALL PAY!!!!"
A minor god was learning about Esar's mood swings.
"BRING THE EMPEROR THIS MESSAGE!!!!"
-
Darius was observing the city of Babylon. Suddenly, a tablet of fire appeared in his residence's wall. The tablet read:

(punctuation was left out to mirror the endless rage)
Darius, afraid, hoped the god would forget.
Little did he know that gods can't forget.
--------------------------------------------------------

Spoiler QUEST :
The four are the horsemen of the apocalypse, according to the first version or the Bamberg apocalypse. It is your job to wage war against the one closest to your land. you can send FOUR UNITS of men max. If these fail, the offended one attacks with an extra force equal to yours minus cities (5 soldiers 3 cities for example would mean horseman + 2 extra units). Good luck. Don't defy the god again.

Spoiler NFME :
Added an island with the Bamberg apocalypse horsemen: Conquest (conquistador) War (keshik) Famine (Horse Archer) Death (Immortal). These versions are COMPLETELY NORMAL, as opposed to the one which attacks - along with respective cities (Conquest is nicely in the center, famine in a desert, death is locked up in a mountain range and war is on the coast. Also added enough horses to supply new Horsemen (a resource will go every time a new one is made).

Well, you used an outdated save, so there really wasn't anything I could do.

EDIT - 2 more hours till I start my update, better get those last minute changes in.
EDIT2 - starting turnset.

"You have failed me, Darius. You did not give me the requried death as tribute. I will get it , but not in a way you would like". Darius recieved this message one night in his sleep, but shrugged the threat without care.

The next few days, a plauge has struck Persia. The scent of death and decay filled the two major cities, and the streets were filled with Doctors yelling, "BRING OUT YOUR DEAD! BRING OUT YOUR DEAD!"

Spoiler Quest :
Same as last time. There will be no punishment if you fail it this turnset. However, there will be no reward.

Spoiler NFME :
Dropped Perespolis population to to 3, and Bayblon to 1. Kill the weaker warrior (Promotion wise) in each city, as well

I think he already started the turnset.

The years after 1500 BC were profitable. The Bard, who was rescued from the frozen northlands, had settled inside of Persepolis, greatly increasing income and culture. Meanwhile, a group of pagans had set out to build some sort of Oracle, and had succeeded. The "oracle," whom Darius was still wary about, had taught them something important - a Code of Laws of some sort - that she said would spark a religion. Unfortunately, it did not, as hoped, and the Persians kept their pagan ways.
(Sorry, I'm an idiot and too used to just clicking techs off, so I only caught one before my reflexes beat me to it - Alphabet.)

The First Persian Fleet, made up of the galley squadrons called PES Pars and PES Babylon. After the message from Esar, an army of immortals was raised swiftly - so many people were worked to death scavenging the material for the immortals - and even more were killed as they were impressed into service (whipped Persepolis down to Size 2). The First Persian Fleet sailed around Chaos Island and the Isthmus that connected Chaos Island and the continent Denkard. It arrived on the Island of the Four soon enough, and the Immortal Army set upon the grounds of the cursed island, right outside the camp centered around the Rider, Famine. The Immortals assembled, and charged the position. The Rider of Famine and his acolyte riders fought hard, nearly destroying an Immortal Division, but the remaining armies conquered the area. In their fury, they obliterated the camp, setting fire to every building standing. The armies moved south, were attacked by an army in strange clothing - their armor was shiny and impregnable, and the banner holders showed a city falling, being conquered to the vast might of this rider's indomnitable will. The army retreated, but one proud immortal division stood, taking the fury of the rider. They were slaughtered to a man, but gave the army time enough to retreat across the river.
The strange men attacked again, but the immortals repelled and slaughtered most of them - including their leader, the Rider of Conquest. He was beheaded and the remnants of his army slaughtered to a man.
The remaining divisions headed south, discovering the city of Conquest defended by a legion of longbowmen. They also found the city of death, likewise defended by long bowmen and the Rider of Death, who was dressed in garbs similar to themselves. They retreated, knowing they would lose if they attacked, and settled to pillaging many of the pastures surrounding Conquest. Several hundreds of pastures were destroyed, starving the island of several of their horse herds.

Many new technologies were discovered, including an alphabet, methods of meditation, a caste of priests (priesthood), a system of mathematics, and a currency system. The method of working iron into workable shapes was stolen from Zulu scientists, and a code of laws was dictated by the Oracle.

There was brief diplomatic contact between Zululand and the Glorious Persian Empire. Shaka arrived in the courts of Persepolis, willing to trade 50 ingots of gold for the secrets of mysticism.

And the city of Parse was founded to the east, in a fertile region on the newly christened River Parse.

Sorry Omega, I started the turnset before you posted.

And... uh... what was your quest again? :D

We have 2 spots open dont we?

Taken from the Persian News.

Attempted Assassination? A Persian ambassdor got in a fight with a Zulu governor because of laws passed. Police arrested him and found a knife on him. He was put to death after being convicted of attemented murder. Persians outcried over this. Some say that the Zulus are angry, and are preparing for war.

Forest Fires. Many of the woodland and jungle dissapeared after a fire destroyed it. The fire was located between the city of Parse and mainland Persia.

NFME:

France: Heads, settler on new island. Rome: Tails, desert area. Korea: Tails, desert.

GreatLordPie - Nope. 2 more spots open, you're free to join.

I guess no one can Recon for me. Because I still didn't read anything about wiping out barbarians on the horses or some such.

Eriko was troubled. The Lord of Silence had increased his influence over the land by founding a colony, made up of a tribe of barbarians who thought that he was the true god. Eriko pitied them, but he also feared them because they had been given the power and the madness of the Lord. Their madness corrupted the land, even the seas retreated from this colony of horror. The Lord of Silence had written a book of religion, it had only spread amongst his people, but every day he grew more powerful.

And yet Darius did nothing. Erkio was in despair. Not a single soldier had been prepared to face this threat against humanity and the gods. Still, Eriko had faith in his chosen one. Even though he would have to get through the colony before he could get to the city of silence.

But Eriko was nervous. Nervous because the Worship of Silence might become a blight across the earth. So Eriko sang a song. He sang a song of warning against the evil lord and his words. But it didn’t have the intended effect. People had different interpretations, some founded new religions, some turned to their old gods for an answer and others simply ignored it. The new religions had a devastating effect on diplomacy. People were fighting over their beliefs, Eriko could already see the cracks forming in the friendships of other nations. They all believed that their interpretations were true, but only one that was the Persian’s belief system. To protect Darius, Eriko sent bows and arrows down into the hands of the Persian people to stop the chaos of the many religions and the evil of the Silence.

The thing that troubled Eriko the most was that there was talk about the Lord of Silence having an ally. Not a vassal, an ally. Was there really a creature as evil as the Silence?

Please read Mosher (and everyone else):
Spoiler :
Converting to Confucianism is greatly encouraged, it will provide protection against the Silence. Islam is the religion of the Silence. Look out for it’s spread. Also, raze The Colony before it does any real harm.

EVERYONE READ BELOW:

I used the Islam as the religion of the Silence because it has been used in the other DIs as the religion of evil. I DO NOT have ANY problem with anyone else’s religion, sexuality or race. Please don’t take this personally.

@Mosher: Quick update. You might want to consider giving a little more time between updates so everyone can edit.

Not for Mosher:
Spoiler :
I gave some civs a religion. I put it in every city and put the Holy City and the respective shrine in each capital city. These are the civs I gave something to:

Persia (Confucianism)
Zululand (Taoism)
Germany (Christianity)
Inca (Judaism)

I didn’t give a religion to Rome and Korea, because they already have one, and France. France will remain Atheist (for now, at least)

-I made The City of Silence the Islamic HC and gave it the shrine. I also increased the the amount of culture in the city. I also didn’t tell the whole truth to Mosher. Islam is the Beast’s religion as well. DO NOT mess around with Islam, unless you are increasing the influence of the beast and DO NOT mess around with Confucianism at all.
-I made a city called The Colony. It has Islam and two Jags protecting it.
-I changed the path to the City of Silence to make it impossible to get there without going via The Colony.

EDIT: And here’s the save.

(someone do my edits for me plz, can't access my Civ PC (I'm at school))

Esar had seen Conquest go. He had seen Famine razed. He had NOT seen the intended result. However, how could he punish Darius? He wouldn't. He would reward the Empire that destroyed famine.

Yet the cursed lands remained. War had survived. Death had survived. Conquest would regenerate. Famine would search revenge.

Spoiler QUEST :
Destroy WAR. Find the country that will be plagued by famine. Save that country.

Spoiler NFME :
