The new patch seems to have arrived

Not really sure if this is the place to post this, could'nt find a bug thread, but Augustus just offered me a research agreement which i agreed to, only problem is i had 37 gold and even though on the trading table it said 250 gold each, it worked anyway when i accepted.

----------------------------------

Edit, ignore this i think i made a mistake, probably looking at the wrong gold digits, per turn instead of actual amount owned, sorry about that.

did you get negative gold after?

It's been reported AI can go into the negative when they sign.

Moderator Action: To anyone who is finding the patch has broken a savegame for a game that was in progress, keep your saves, as Firaxis looks like they are trying to fix the issue. All is not lost!

EDIT
Does someone have 2K Greg's email address? I'm told that if you zip up your savefile and send it to him, you may get a file back that works again. They are looking for savegames to test and figure out this problem.

Greg[dot]Laabs[at]2kgames[dot]com

But i guess they've already sorted the core problem out, because it has already been stated that it will be worked on it.

Ok so I have played many games so far past 500 turns and have had to wait a minute between turns, which is no big deal. After the patch I seem to be freezing every 10 turns or so around the 400 turn mark. It is really annoying to have to replay 5 turns from an autosave, I am just trying to get a diplomatic win so I am not really even doing anything during my turns.... just waiting. I don't know about this game, it is hard to be enthusiastic about a game that you have to ignore so many problems to enjoy.

Selective vision?

Trading was nerfed. I use trading much more than I use Wealth. Also, workshops, et al have had 1 hammer added.

Overall, it sounds like productioin was given a buff and wealth was given a nerf.

No, setting a city to produce Wealth now gives more gold than it did before. How is that a nerf?

Patch installed, played two turns, then crashed (black screen, game cursor still remains, sound still audible). Started game again, and so far played to 1000 AD without any problem. The black screen issue seems to occur (both before and since patching). I'm running Win 7 on a 2.6 ghz 2gb ram 1gb video.

What values for "EACH_GOLD_VALUE_PERCENT" and "EACH_GOLD_PER_TURN_VALUE_PERCENT" are you guys seeing in the GlobalDiplomacyAIDefines.XML file (located in C:\Program Files\Sid Meier's Civilization V\assets\Gameplay\XML\AI) post the patch? The values can be found at the bottom of the file (you can view using notepad). Would like use that info. to help in modding. Thanks.

I would highly recommend changing the autosave interval to 1 per turn. It won't fix the crash problem, but it'll save you from replaying 5 turns when it crashes. It can be adjusted in the Options menu if I remember right.

Happycat, set your windows 7 theme to basic. If you have only 2gbs ram that could be part of the problem. Setting the theme to basic frees up a little ram.

hey guys just wondering it said the patch would fix the map redraw you get with certain video cards.they said people who have this also have those red tiles.i continued a save game since the patch,no problem with the save but the redraw and those red tiles are still there.do you think if i started a new game this would change?

EACH_GOLD_VALUE_PERCENT is 100

and

EACH_GOLD_PER_TURN_VALUE_PERCENT is 75

Thanks. So those values have remained unchanged. Do you know what they changed in that GlobalDiplomacyAIDefines.XML file that made the AI give less gold etc. in exchange for luxury goods etc. when trading with the player? Thanks.

Er, unfortunately, I can't tell. I'm not a modder and have never looked in that file before, I just was finding those values for you. I looked through it though and nothing jumped out at me, but again...I really don't know what to be looking for. Sorry.

Just started my first game with the patch. Many improvements, I like it.

One mistake is still there: I don't know if this has been posted before but I noticed that a city that is about to be razed still asks for something to produce.

Cities being razed have always asked for production commands. It doesn't matter since production won't start until it's out of anarchy by which point it will be razed completely.

Thank you Firaxis for releasing a patch that breaks my save game.
Thank you Steam for automatically updating Civ without warning me my save would break.
What's that? A fix will be released on Monday - that's great.
Oh wait.. I'll be back at work on Monday

I suppose the logic is that you can still stop the razing and cities have to be set to produce something. There really should be an option to produce nothing that razed cities are set to by default.

I've started a game and so far I like the changes. Still a ways to go til everything is where it should be, but it's a step in the right direction.

I like several of the changes made, and the AI does seem to have improved (offering less cash for resources, for instance, and actually settling other islands on an archipelago map).

Good start.

I started a new game and this problem is gone. When I loaded my savegame the texture terrain texture were already loaded everywhere. Also I don't have any red dots anymore.

I'm playing on king and AI seems more difficult. I attacked Askia and wiped him out of the game and now I'm have a very hard time getting any diplomacy going and everyone hates me. It does feel like what I do has a bigger influence on the diplomatic side of the game.

Puppet city are now a lot better, they are basicly set on ''gold focus'' and they also build gold building first. Being able to sell building is great too.

Like it so far. Haven't had the chance to trade a 1 on 1 luxury since everyone hates but rome... and they don't have anything in double. But I hope you can still do it with friendly civ (at least when you are in cooperation pact with them.) and not ahead of everyone.

With the new patch, when i load a saved game from previous version, it loads fine. But when i destroy a unit, it has severe stability problems, sometimes it keeps a long pause where you can't do anything but wait and it might finally show the destroyed unit disappearing and game continues. But then there are times that it just won't continue after unit destruction, it just crashes and freezes the whole computer. Pressing ctrl-alt-del does nothing, pressing alt-tab does nothing. This seems to happen only when i use a ranged unit (trebuchet) to kill something, using melee units to kill something does not seem to cause this.
