I think the Belarus-Russian Union State has potential. I don't see the other states having any long term commitment for union for a while though. The political situations in most of those states are simply too unstable and they have such a love-hate relationship with Russia.

iirc Belarus pushed for more unification and Russia was all "piss off"

Well, the Belarussian state news site says that Borodin was saying that all ex-Soviet countries will become members by 2017, not that the Soviet Union was reforming in 2017. I find that to be highly unlikely given that the Baltic states especially have distanced themselves so greatly from Moscow in the last 19 years.

If just those tiny slavic states would join, it could just barely be called a "union". And it's quite unlikely that Serbia would join, and transnistria will probably eventually be demilitarised and end its romance with Russia.

And it's more or less impossible that any of the baltic states would join.

This would be the new united states and believe me this will be more liberal and democratic than what we have now.

We have as much to fear from Russia as we do from China.

Spoiler :
Nothing.

and that my friend is what will bring the Us down....underestimating your enemy they did it with Germany and Hitler did it with the USSR you should know better my friend.:goodjob:

and yes i agree....underestimating your enemy
No, it will be as a result of economic malaise brought on by the welfare state, sacrificing the well-to-do in order to prop up failed people and failed enterprises.

It will be because children are brought up in an environment where they are programmed to be non-confrontational and non-competitive. The doctrine is "fairness" above all else.

It will be because our countries are entangled in a war with an enemy that cannot be stopped by occupying their countries. At the same time, it will also be because we have become soft in the face of genuine threats; the West does nothing in preventing the rise in numbers of nuclear states.

It will be because of insidious multiculturalism, where we will give not only acceptance but also subsidize ideas that run counter to the ideals of individual rights and free enterprise.

I've read that China is like a sleeping dragon. Better not to poke it hard, or else something will happen. That something is still a mystery thought.

It's a lot more likely that the economy will be ruined by the deregulatory state that concentrates wealth in too few hands.

and yes i agree but if A war was to happen soon the biggest problem the west will have is the USA underestimating there enemy. Example well look at the last 3 wars they had. you cant just think because i'm bigger and better there for i cant win .
