Almost there, lads and... more lads.
srsly chester let your mom play a round

I'll be putting together the last tweaks and tune-ups I can today. The SVN might not go live until later in the week, but you'll get the latest version I tested myself. We're looking at ~230MB uncompressed, so I think what I'll do is release the main components as Revision 1, the voicepacks as Revision 2, and the music as Revision 3; that way people with slower connections, bandwidth caps &c. can get the essentials without busting a circuit and download the rest at their leisure.

The good news is, SVN only downloads new and/or changed files, so once you have the sounds you (probably) won't need to download them again.

Just as the mod is released... I go back to Uni.

IMPERIUM OFFTOPICUM: THE MOD
SVN RELEASE 1.0

DISCLAIMER:
The SVN was only finally uploaded Sunday. I had requested for Reus to test it prior to public release to make sure everything functioned in-game, but he didn't return my call. Rather than leave you in limbo for another month, I am launching it now; everything theoretically works, but as mentioned previously I am unable to test the final download, so you will have to troubleshoot by yourselves.

How to download

  1. Download and install Tortoise SVN.
  2. Create a folder in the BTS/Mods directory (or duplicate the existing IOT folder—make sure it's renamed or you've backed up the mod).
  3. Right-click on the new folder and select 'SVN Checkout'. For 'URL of repository', enter 'svn://svn.code.sf.net/p/civ4-iot/code/trunk', and double-check that 'Checkout directory' matches the path to your folder. What follows next depends on the fidelity of your Internet connection:
    • For the core mod files (excluding unit sounds and diplomusic), select the second option under 'Revision' and enter '2'. Click 'OK' and the download will commence. Est. file size: 87 MB.
OPTIONAL: To reduce bandwidth, you can download the core components in a .RAR archive here for 31 MB.
    • For the mod with unit sounds (but not diplomusic), select the second option under 'Revision' and enter '3'. Click 'OK' and the download will commence. Est. file size: 96 MB.
    • For the full mod including diplomusic, leave 'HEAD Revision' selected and click 'OK'. Est. file size: 237 MB.
  • For future updates, simply right-click the folder and select 'SVN Update', or to update to a specific revision, 'TortoiseSVN > Update to revision'.
  • The SVN will only modify out-of-date files, so to cut down on redundancy and download size you can copy the mod files you already have into the SVN folder. Note that SVN updates will also DELETE unused files as well.

When should we (I) expect a CiV release?

[*]Added voicepacks for Terran Empire

Ohhh, i wonder these entail, please elaborate :3

also, I see you have yet to implement the Constitution Class :(

Or possibly the Terran Dropship, I heard Reus was talking about that earlier.

Hooray! Will test this as soon as I'm able.

Also I'll totes whip up some civilopedia stuff at some point for my nation.

Sorry to double post, but I think it's probably a better idea to set up the SVN folder somewhere else other than the mod folder as it is protected by admin privileges and it seems not to like SVN.

EDIT: Quick thing, if you don't want annoying error messages, make sure you change the folder permission to accessable to things otherwise BUG has a massive freakout.

Also, Thor & Reus, would you mind if I made alterations to my nation, just to make it how I want (i.e editing Civliopedia, altering UU stats, ect)? I'll try and keep the revisions in a different revision area (or something).

*ahem*
Steam centurions pls
EDIT:
Also Dunmeris voiceclips pls

I see my faction got kinda ousted....
or is it still in the game?

Double posting, but I just realized what my second UB could be. In my epic all-nighter multiplayer game against LH, I made a religion called "The Cult of the Watchtower" because I was on a Hendrix binge and I wanted a fancy religion name. LH thought it was stupid, but it became a running joke between us after the religion spread to basically the entire world, especially after the game ended. I even based my party's name in the recent RP on that joke. Yet, despite any lack of espionage bonuses for the player known for espionage, I was adamant that the hockey rink was the only UB that could really fit me. Until now.

Watchtower
Replaces Barracks
+2 :espionage:
Everything else is the same.

I'm back at my gaming computer, meaning I can, like, do stuff again!

I tested the files and the Feminist unit pack works, although I did find an error with the Explorer that will be corrected come next update. (For the impatient, open Civ4ArtDefines_Unit.xml in Notepad and delete 'Women/' from 'Art/Units/Women/Explorer/Explorer.kfm'.) Not sure why Omega's having problems with the rest, though.

We're still trying to get Reus read-access to the SVN; in the mean time you can now bombard us with inane demands and try to convince me not to package the Downfall Gang in the next release.

As someone who also played the Downfall Gang (ablight breefly, we all know what happened), I demand that they be added :p

Well whatdya know! I just finished making a new Leaderhead Pic I want for NinjaCow64!

Spoiler :

A Civ4 modding tutorial said it had to be streched to display properly and at that size, if they were wrong then I can redo the image.

Also, I was thinking that maybe the Giraffe Archers could replace Chariots instead and be identical except not requiring horses. And I'll make a new UB soon. And Civilopedia stuff! And everything!
