The Official "I've Got It!" Thread. Post here....

Arrived today, so much for Amazon's delivery estimate of October 25.

Very kind of it to warn me it had taken pity on my AMD 2.1 cpu, but it's so slow.....

Looks wonderful, but will have to go back in the box until Santa brings me a new toy...

Well, I have the game-as I said above-and I am really enjoying playing it, but I WISH there weren't the flashes of pixelation and the occasional freezing up (usually around once every 10-20 turns). Anyone else here getting that? It might be simply a question of running it in Windowed mode-at least until the patch comes out. Anyway, any suggestions from those who have the game-and this problem-would be much appreciated.

Yours,
Aussie_Lurker.

Yeah, I get that too, especially with the wonder movies. The game starts to lag a bit. It freezes sometimes too, but i wait about a minute and everythings all good again.. good opportunity to have a break!!

I got the game at last!!!!:D

Arrived yesterday. I had a good 6 and a half hour play! Now gonna play for another 3 hours now!:D

I got it October 29 and I have played it almost non-stop (all of my time that isn't used playing football or going to school has been used playing CivIV) and I have to say that this is the best game I've ever played.

Say, wasn't the game supposed to be released throughout Europe in the 4th November?? Today I went to a store and I was told that the game won't be available until December!!!!

Could this be a country-specific problem?

Looks like I'll have to order my copy in amazon.com or something... :(

Perhaps. Or then it could be that you asked it from wrong distributor. Might be that they didn't order ship loads of civ copies enough early so they have to wait another wave. Ask somewhere else I'll say.

I've seen that good stores gets their games when they are supposed to release, poor stores doesn't.

I've bought the "pirated" version of Civ 4  I live in Russia and I can't buy a licensed version of it (because we don't have any in stores at the present time). When localised Civ4 appears in our stores, I'll buy it!!!!!!! :king:

Moderator Action: Piracy is not allowed nor is it tolerated here. Either buy it or don't play it at all.

I've got it, finally, from Amazon as well. Installing now, fingers firmly crossed.

Spybot -- the black background on your laptop is probably due to your integrated graphics chip not being able to run 3D.

To anyone in Oz that didn't pre-order, I did a check of eight stores on the Gold Coast and they had very few copies; + they were sold out of Civ3 Complete as well.

Mine arrived on Friday from Amazon.co.uk so that was the end of work for the day.....

I have a Radeon 9600 and had the 'Renderer failed to initialize' error so followed the fix off the Civ4.com website and then it worked fine. Though it has crashed a couple of times (annoying that it only autosaves every 4 turns) and sometimes the Wonder movies don't start up.

Otherwise, it's fantastic!

Played the tutorial, then a Settler level game as the English, now on Chieftain as the Romans.

I made some calls to shops around Rio, but it seems I have to wait until December <grrr>

Also, Amazon doesn't ship to Brazil anymore. Seems I'll have to wait...
