The Official "I've Got It!" Thread. Post here....

YESSSS it is available in Luebeck - Germany ... at LEAST ONE shop got it ... sadly not my favourite store ... but they might still get it today.
Anyway I will buy it today. AAAAAAA I'm so excited!

Thanks, by the way to Sulla. His walkthrough is like looking him over the shoulder while he plays. It was a light in my ever darkening autumn days ;).

HAPPY CIVIN' WOOOOHOOOOO!!!

Got it!!! :goodjob: I found about 8 copies at an EB Games, in West Nyack, NY.

Installed it last night ... played 6 turns. Could not keep my eyes open any more ... 11:30 pm ... I am getting old:( .

It will take time to find my way around the game. But looks good so far.

T~

I got mine, too! A GameStop employee "found" a copy among the pre-reserved copies, threw away some slip of paper rubber banded to it, and said, "you're in luck!" I did not pre-reserve my copy.

I didn't ask who was the poor schluck who got his copy pilfered...

I did have quite a bit of trouble installing it, though. I think I will have to buy a new computer now. The funny thing is, I bought this current computer when Civ III came out, just to be able to play it. HA! I'm upgrading my computer just like researching techs in Civ in order to play Civ [so I can research techs....] :)

Love,
rplass

Hi,

Does anyone know if the German and French versions also have English version included . In other words does it allow you to choose language at that the start like some games?

I live in Switzerland but need the english version.

Thanks and enjoy to everyone with the game already!

Well,

I live in Lyon (France) and today I've bought Civ4 at la FNAC for 55 €...

Now... I have to quit the forum... I have an important thing to do (play !)

bye

Lucky one, you who have put his hands on this game

Me here in Canada, I must wait a very long week to have it. My Civilization IV is ordered, but the retailer don't have received it yet.

He must send it to me tomorrow... and after I must wait for the mail

What that took me of not to order with quick delivery. :crazyeye:

I picked up my pre-order copy from EB yesterday over lunch....LONG LONG afternoon of work before I could get home play.

Installed without a hitch and next thing I know, it's 1240 AD (4:30 am local time LOL) and my glorious Roman Empire is complete control over my starting continent after a long and protected war with the French.

This game is everything I had hoped it would be....and more. It's definitely going to take some time to become proficient.

SWEET....

After going to two other Gamestop stores and finding they were sold out then I went to EB games at a mall and got it...been playing the whole night and enjoying every minute of it.

My preorder from EB Games arrived on time a few hours ago. It's the Special Edition, and I got two surprises:

First, the soundtrack CD and game CDs had a light coating of lint. After I cleaned them, I immediately installed Civ4. I was worried that there might have also been invisible flaws in the CDs, but my fears were quelled. Installation went flawlessly. (I have yet to test my game key and to listen to the entire soundtrack. I will post again if something goes wrong with either one.)

Second, I was amused to find that I was one of the unlucky people who got the French Canadian tech tree poster instead of the English. I chuckled to myself, knowing that Firaxis would get me my English poster free of charge.

After I give my spiral-bound manual a light read, I'm going to enjoy some Civ4. :D

(Its probably nothing, but on the UK Woolworths site the release date is 28th OCT, not 4th Nov. Just wondering if the shops have the same info . . . .)
