I have at least hundreds of hours on RFC : DOC and never ever see anything like this... please drop some save files

Is this a debug mode or something else that helped you to appear as an American civ in early Renaissance and with the leaderboard showing Independents and Natives?

Always dreamed of having an ability to just spectate and watch the civilizations rise and fall in DoC without myself having to play directly

Ctrl+A and enter the date you want the game to run until. If you enable cheat mode you can use Ctrl+Z to see the map while this happens (at a performance cost).

Likely a very lucky missionary (which allows you to spread your religion to some cities of a random known rival for some gold). Given that there is a Chinese Lancer - you do the math.

Out of curiosity, did you declare war on Byzantium after the split and captured back your empire? If yes, how much troops are they getting as compensation?

They have a decent army at spawn but are getting only ~20 horsemen as compensation, not cataphracts. They also flipped with archers instead of crossbowmen when I was already at printing. So even with their compensation, they didn't have enough to defend all my eastern cities.

Here's the save too. It also caused Poland to spawn and flip to Confucianism which was unexpected.

Also, check out the rare Rotterdam.

In my experience on the new map rotterdam is actually quite frequent (3 out of 5 Dutch starts, all I see are ruins). Most of the time HRE settles it before the Amsterdam marshes disappear. I did see HRE founding Amsterdam occasionally.

It was confirmed that currently the anti-Roman Barbarian activity is greatly disabled. With them back in action I hope it won't be possible to research printing in 4th century!
