The "OMG! Look what happened in DoC!" Thread

Way to waste Trafalgar, Iran (it's Tabriz, on the Caspian).

Rule Irania, Irania Rule The Waves!

Marathon speed can be pretty entertaining sometimes. This is the Mughals, doing their best to imitate the Ottomans.

When Steam deletes your old save files

I honestly have no idea. This is a 3000 BC start and they were already there when I spawned. There's scattered Roman roads in central Siberia as well. My only theory is that AI Rome randomly captured an Asian city (such as Shenyang) with it's explorer troops it loves sending out, and then had the brilliant idea of attempting to build a trans-Eurasian Roman Road across Siberia.

The stable Mongols would be kinda cool if this hadn't happened two games in a row while I'm trying to play Russia. They could easily roll me (they have 3x my troops) and they slightly out-tech me and seem fairly stable.

I just noticed something so obviously wrong that I'm facepalming because in all my years of playing DOC I've never realized it.

Why do protestant cathedrals give +1 happyness with incense?

Cathedrals of any religion give +1 :) with incense.
I know but the irony is that one of the big Protestant gripes with Catholicism was the use of incense. Its not a universal thing, I know Anglicans and a few Lutheran churches use incense but I thought it was funny that one of the big complaints of early protestants is used by them in game.

"Anglican and Lutheran" are basically all civs in the game that historically have Protestant state religion.

Hangzhou invaded, not by Mongols, but ...

I'm trying to generate a starting save file from 600 AD as Argentina. China and Korea were completely overrun by barbarians before the Mongol spawn.
