The "OMG! Look what happened!" Thread

1: Ethiopia managed to successfully invade the Arabs.
2: Babylon is still alive and well.

We should expand the city name map for Greece...

That is nothing, I once had an Ethiopia ask to be my vassal (which I declined as they were waaaay too weak and would probably collapse soon anyway) and then they proceeded to conquer Jerusalem from a stronger than normal Arabia. Then they apparently did not think that was enough, so they continued on all the way to Mecca, which they held longer enough to have some decent infrastructure.

If I find the save file or pics, I will post it.

It does? If someone says something crazy, and they are not a mental patient, maybe it's funny. At least, that's what the voices are telling me.

I'm playing a game at the moment as the Russians. It's 1742, and the first Congress gets called.

First off, France requested Plymouth, and won it. (I can understand the other civs voting for it, in an attempt to knock England off the top of the score board, but I'm surprised both that a core English city came up for the vote, and that England accepted it).

Then Saladin asked for Merv, which I controlled, so I voted against it. Saladin won the vote, which put me in a bit of a bind. I was already at war with the Mongols and the Japanese*, and didn't want war against the Arabs, who are 4 positions above me in the score board
and ahead of me on tech. But on the other hand, Merv had somehow ended up one of my better cities, and is playing an important role in my war against the Mongols.

In the end I decided to defy the ruleing, whereupon Saladin... did nothing. However, the Netherlands (who had previously been quite friendly to me) declared war on me on his behalf (along with their vassal Mali). Then Vikings (who were friendly with both of us) declared war on the Netherlands in my defence.

I also managed to claim Kazan off the Mongols in the congress (its a pretty crap city, but it should damage the Mongol war effort, and the only other options were an even crapper Mongol city, a couple of Viking cities (good, but I didn't want to harm my allies), and a city in the extreme far east of Siberia that I founded but liberated to the Chinese because the Mongols were about to capture it).

* The Japanese are vassals of the Mongols, and were ahead of them on the score board. For some reason, as soon as the Mongols DoW on me, they dropped several points to below the Japanese.
