Conviction doesn't imply a willingness to act on it. Stubbornness has the connotation of being unreasonably obstinate, i.e. conviction beyond reason.Is there a difference between conviction and stubbornness?

Stoic is being free from passion about something, but apathy has the added connotations of not being interested in something; one could maintain current knowledge stoically, but an apathetic person would not bother to do that.
