Doesn't the 'b' make a 'p' sound since it is at the end of a syllable?

Also, the 'i' makes an 'ee' sound?

Lipe-neets?

"b" is a "b". (an average german "b", which may well sound closer to "p" to an english speaker).

the "i" isnt particularly long either.

Depends.

lаɪb-nɪt͡s

that last ts being a voiceless alveolar affricate, and I can't do the little hump over the ts

EDIT: is the IPA stuff showing up for everybody else?

I see it. By the way, is there a quick guide somewhere to the IPA sounds? I'm confused by the seemingly random symbols.

To my understanding, the 'b' is pronounced as an approximate English 'p' only at the ends of words? And as for the 'i' becoming 'ee', not in normal German, I would say.

Question: If a woman does drugs, and then stops shortly (maybe a few months) before becoming pregnant, can it still affect the fetus?

I looked through a bunch of textbooks and didn't find anything about this situation. I'm just curious. (No, I'm not pregnant, nor do I do drugs.)

Basically no.

Her general lack of condition will affect the fetus, although what she has been doing in the intervening months would prob be more of a factor. If she had caused some kind of serious problem - eg desease or seriously compromised a major organ - that could affect the fetus, although it is not terribly likely unless she really went to the brink. If she were to stop closer to - or at the same time as - getting up the duff there could be a greater chance of issues relating to the substance itself or the physical stress of withdrawl, but after a couple of weeks these direct factors of the chemical are mitigated. Indeed for the most part they would be mitigated in a couple of days.

Baring disease the prime issue will be the lack of physical and mental health and stability. Pregnancy is a big old jolt so ideally a woman will be in tip-top shape for it however, as Mr Lennon said, life is what happens while you're making other plans.

What is this exactly? Is it sleep paralysis? Demonic possession? Schizophrenia?

I wake up in the middle of the night to see a woman's face right above my bed. She's looming over me and she look's dead, like a corpse. Her skin is grey her eye's are black and she's staring right into my eyes. She looks like the woman from the ring or the grudge and there's this sense of evil and death that's almost tangible.

I try to move but I can't and the woman open's her mouth still looking into my eye's and she start's screaming. It's a high pitched keening wail that fills all my senses and then I feel her touching me. I can feel her cold clammy hands squeezing my palms, I can physically feel her arm slither around my chest. Anyway I try to scream but all that come's out is a gurgle I can't move or make any noise, but it breaks and then I can finally move and the woman is gone and I bolt upright screaming.

So yes what the hell is this? Am I going insane?

Well they didn't storm the Reichstag, they just sort of walked up to it and said "okay its ours now;" the building being largely unused, and still heavily damaged from the 1934 fire.
Still, the Reichstag was the building that Stalin had designated as being of utmost importance for the capture of the Red Army, and so pretty much every battalion was suicidal in trying to storm it.

It was pretty well defended; maybe 800 SS, Volkssturm, Wehrmacht, KdF, HJ etc, defending it.

In the end, the flagbeareres found a back way in, and snuck up, and raised the flag, while fighting was still going on inside.
In fact, the storming of the Reichstag lasted until a few days after tha flag was raised.

So a conversation with friends got to a point in which one was claiming in France it is illegal to wear any religious symbols at all, so he would be arrested if he went there for wearing his St. Whogivesamuck medallion, which caused my other friend to say, "that's why democrats suck," this comment of course coming from the same guy who is pissed at liberal democrats because they want to ban smoking and believes "you can't even wipe your own ass in California."

So, what can you deduce from this? Do they know more than me about what's going on in the world? What should I do, as a friend?

So, what can you deduce from this?
Well I don't know if what they're saying is even true or not, IE France's religious expression policies and California's alleged Nanny-stateness. I would deduce that they feel strongly and like to talk . .. .. .. . and have chosen to blame one specific group for their gripes. :dunno:
Do they know more than me about what's going on in the world?
Do they read CFCOT? If not I doubt it.
What should I do, as a friend?
Do you feel you should have to do something? Do you think your friends are wrong and feel the need to share your beliefs with them? I disagree with the majority of my friends in the sort of sense you're describing and it's still pretty much a non issue.

NEVER!!!!!!!!

Then be prepared for the concequences of psychoactive use. That's really the only solution, unless you're actually mentally ill, in which case, drugs is a bad idea anyway.
