The questions-not-worth-their-own-thread question thread IV

Threesomes aren't that exciting. But you should probably try it before dismissing it.
I for one have every intention of doing so. One of the few sexual things I'd like to try that I haven't.

What the difference between Phi Sigma Kappa and any other frat? Whats the point in joining this particular frat vs. any other frat? I just don't get these frat things, yeah I know an excuse to drink with tacit approval of uni authorities and be sort of homosexual. So why are there like dozens of frats?

All politics is local. And so are all frats. Pick one for the people and activities of that chapter. Don't worry about anything else.

Some time back there was a thread where everyone on OT did the political compass and it was all mapped on a graph, I dont know how to do it, but it would be interesting to see have things changed much since the recession, anyone know how to make one?

FWIW I'm Economic Left/Right: -9.50
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -3.85

There are two girls particularly bothering me at the moment. They are friends with each other, and must have some sort of agreement to take the piss out of me. One says their friend (being the other girl) would like to go out with me, and the she denies it. Later, the other girl says that the girl who just said she likes me would want a relationship with me, which she then denies. I hope that isn't too confusing (well, I'm totally confused at the moment...) What does this mean? Are they messing around, or seriously trying to say something? :p

If you think you're getting played, play back. When A tells you that B is interested in you, tell A that you are not interested in B because B is too <pick something, preferably a physical attribute>. Repeat in the other direction. If B comes to you to complain that A said that you said this about B, deny it, but tell B that she is "just not your type".

Nothing makes a girl more interested in you than if she thinks you are not interested in her.

That sounds quite ********, but girls themselves are ********, so what the hell!

Why exactly is twice frozen food unedible? If you (let's say) fry frozen vegetables on a pan and freeze them, they are again edible, am I right? (I believe so, since it was a cook who tiold this to me). Why is that?

I have a fridge with small below zero box at the top, and as many of you probably know, white nontransparent ice forms in the box. Why is that? If there's frozen vegetables, same kind of ice forms insde the bag they are (even if it wasn't opened). Why is that?

What exactly is the difference between Great Britain and Britain? Is there Small Britain, Lesser Britain or Not-so-great Britain?

Ok... so in the same vain and fashion, is it wrong to ask the best girl from my previous question to be my valentine? Just wondering... it could be a good way to nosey my way in. :smug:

I think Britain includes all of the main British island, whilst Great Britain incorporates all of the British Isles (that are part of the UK), and the United Kingdom constitutes all of Great Britain (that is willing), and all other external territories. I think.

Great Britain is the biggest of the British isles, with the bulk of England/Scotland/Wales located on it. It is Great Britain to distinguish it from the smaller British islands (Ireland, the Isle of Man, etc.)

I think that's right, at least...

Ok, it might be, but it's strange to call that island Great Britain, if it's only part of Britain. Could it be just that Brtitsh thought they were great, and therefore named it Great Britain?

(I'm really really ashamed of not knowing this).

The speed with which freezing takes place matters. If food is frozen slowly, the cellular structure of the food can be disrupted in a way that effects the flavor. For example if you flash freeze fish, it remains tasty. But to slow freeze it it is usually disliked. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frozen_food

Greater Britain, as opposed to Lesser Britain, e.g. Brittany.

I think Lesser Britain is Bretagne.

Wikipedia seems to support that. although the wording used there suggests that it has derived it's name from Great Britain, eg Great Britain was first.

EDIT: Cutlass, I've understood that freezing food twice isn't matter of only taste, but also health. Here people say that food becoes "poisonous" if it frozen twice. (Poisonous in that phrase can mean pretty mild things).
