The questions-not-worth-their-own-thread question thread IV

Yeah, it's kinda weird looking. The Google Chrome icon is excellent, though.

Why do people constantly ask questions about stuff that has neither meaning nor application in history? Like "who would win, a Roman or a medieval army" or "who would win Alexander the Great or China". They're giving alternate history a bad name.

It certainly has meaning. As for application, what application does history have if not for comparisons to other times?

What meaning? And comparisons between times are fine, but silly mashups like whose army would win between two vastly different time periods are...well, to go with the meme, silly. Perhaps I'll try to start a discussion on my manpower and social change idea.

I like it!

I can't freakin' find Google in my tabs anymore! It's like some kind of freakin' pomo grocery store logo. Gah!

On the other hand, I'm pretty sure there's a way to work around it, I recall having done it before with others. Huh. If I remember I'll let y'all know. 'Cause that's just nasty.

What do you call those printers which have the funny paper with holes on the side, and they tear apart from each other? I saw the name somewhere but can't quite remember....

Feeder?

I'm not sure, it could be, but I don't really think so.

We always called it a feeder, but I think the bigger name is "tractor feeder."

that may be it...thanks.

Why did google change their favicon? The new one is gross and confusing.
"Cutting edge" websites such as Google tend to change their brand imagery quite often. Giving the impression that they are constantly reinventing themselves is part of their consumer-facing marketing strategy.

yes, I think that's it. thank you. i remember that when i was maybe 3 or 4, there was a printing shop down the road and they'd give me the old paper to draw on.

I heard about a forum with just one guy talking to himself. What is this all about?
