Ground skill are a must in combat. 9 out of 10 fights end on the ground. You'd think with numbesrs like that, people might actually learn how to fight on the ground, wouldn't you?

9 out of ten fights end badly for the guy on the ground ;). Seriously, you just get kicked and stamped on.

Are vertical drop rollercoasters bad for health? After riding Oblivion (the world's first vertical drop coaster) I feel slightly worse for the experience, as fun as it was.

I can't see why it would. I rode what I think is the tallest one in the world(the one in Busch Gardens) and I felt fine, get a ton of pressure on your chest but that's what makes it awesome and it only lasts a second.

Anyone know the name of that Finnish polka song that has the video of the anime thing dancing around?

Ones that whip your head and neck around can potentially be harmful.

Not if you know what you're doing down there. I'm best when I have a guy in a mounted position. I would imagine Elta, who does BJJ, is at his best when actually underneath his opponent. As long as a fight's one on one, the ground is the best place to be. Unless the other guy is much better than you, of course, in which case I'd suggest you run like hell.

If you're at a numerical disadvantage, try to take a guy out quickly and brutally as a message to the others. My preferred tactic is taking an eye out (yes, I have done this, before anyone asks). Once that's done, the others are unlikely to even want to fight you, but even if they are it buys you some time.

Also, don't get drunk. It leads to bad fighting, slurred speech, and waking up next to ugly chicks.

Did you recently have a bad experience with a Bible Literalist? ;)

Yes, he was saying that the Bible was the literal word of god. I said there was a menagerie of contradictions throughout the bible. I backed that up with biblical verses from the bible the are obviously contradictions. He said I made half the verses up.I show him the bible, the King James Version no less (I assumed he was a member of the KJV only movement), then he said that the translation from the original Hebrew and Koine Greek was was flawed. I jokenlingly quipped that he sounded like a Muslim...

Anyway, yeah.

I've had a LOT of bad experiences with biblical literalism/innerency weirdos. I just don't know how to deal with them.

Don't go to their church, and tell them you'll call the police if they don't leave your doorstep. :)

One of the best things I associate with getting older is the understanding that you don't have to always tell people if you disagree with them.

People who take the Bible literally aren't going to change their views no matter what you say. So just say "thank you, I'll take a look at it, good night" or "Thanks, but I'm not interested, have a nice day" or "Thanks, but I'm busy" or "Thanks, but I have already my opinion on these matters, and I don't think you will change it".

Every single one of these have worked for me fine, I haven't wasted my time more than ten seconds, and haven't myself ended up pushing my opinions to people and can be happy about myself.

Was anyone ever in a situation where you just wish that everyone in the room would break into a spontaneous mass choreographed dance a la those Bollywood movies?

At work theres a jukebox that plays a random song after being idle for a certain time. Usually theres not that many people here so its pretty quiet and its fairly loud so its pretty surprising when it does randomly play. Every time it does I just wish everyone would break into dance.

Actually that would be a really fun prank.
