Grog is diluted rum.
I recommend sherry, brandy and port.
You could also try ale.

Those are some good ideas. I've never tried ale either. :)

Can you just let some alcoholic drink reach room temperature?

Of course I can, but I'm talking about things that were meant to be drunk at room temperature (or even above). You could also heat up ice cream in the oven, doesn't mean it will be any good. :)

Isn't ţuică sometimes served hot?

Yes it is (ţuică fiartă = boiled "ţuică")! It's quite common, however, I don't really like it, and you can't really order it in public places - it's more like something that a family would prepare for a large meal. I was interested in other ideas, because if we talk about hot drinks, I much prefer the "vin fiert" = boiled wine. :D

I see. Anyway, I might recommend an Irish Coffee for a hot alcoholic drink.
Also, if I am sick during winter, I'll fix myself a large mug of hot tea with some lemon, honey, and a good measure of cognac, Jägermeister or Stroh. Scares away any cold I've ever experienced. ;)

Can anyone recommend me any alcoholic drinks that are not normally served cold/iced? Wines not included. :)

American Honey

Wild Turkey bourbon and honey. Just mix it together and sip it. I really wouldn't recommend doing it as a shot...

What is the meaning of life?

Life (/laɪf/)

(noun)
1. The state that precedes death and follows birth or conception.
2. (biology) A status given to any entity including animals, plants, fungi, bacteria, etc. — and sometimes viruses — having the properties of replication and metabolism.
3. (philosophy) The essence of the manifestation and the foundation of the being.
4. (phenomenology) the subjective and inner manifestation of the individual.
5. The world in general; existence.

"Man's life on this planet has been marked by continual conflict."

6. A worthwhile existence.

"He gets up early in the morning, works all day long — even on weekends — and hardly sees his family. That's no life!"

7. A biography.

"His life of the founder is finished, except for the title."

8. Something which is inherently part of a person's existence, such as job, family, a loved one, etc.

"She's my love, my life."

9. (colloquial) A life sentence; a term of imprisonment of a convict until his or her death.
10. The span of time during which an object operates.

"This light bulb is designed to have a life of 2,000 hours."

11. The period of time during which an object is recognizable.

"The life of this milk carton may be thousands of years in this landfill."

12. (video games) One of the player's chances to play, lost when a mistake is made.

"Scoring 1000 points is rewarded with an extra life."

Unless you're a manly man like me :viking:

 I don't care how manly you are, it only takes one time of doing it as a shot and all that honey getting stuck half-way down your throat, causing you to gag and look a fool, to know that it's a drink best sipped. Besides, it's tastey; why rush it?

What is the name of the type of sword used to open champagne bottles?

You mean like these things?
champagne%20pliers_L.jpg

Those are champagne pliers. I don't know what you meant by 'sword'...

This is a question not worth it's own thread in the physics section.

Why do Cooper Pairs only form when the temperature is below the critical temperature, in superconducting state?

I need a translation. Is this correct?

Never knew I could feel like this
Like I've never seen the sky before
I want to vanish inside your kiss
Every day I love more and more
Listen to my heart
Can you hear it sings
Telling me to give you everything
Seasons may change
Winter to spring
But I love you until
The end of time
CHORUS:
Come what may
Come what may
I will love you until my dying day

Suddenly the world seems
Such a perfect place
Suddenly it moves with
Such a perfect grace
Suddenly my life
Doesn't seem such a waste
But our world revolves around you
And there's no mountain too high
No river too wide
Sing out this song
I'll be there by your side
Storm clouds may gather
And stars may collide
But I love you until
The end of time

Repeat chorus

Oh, come what may
Come what may
I will love you
I will love you
Suddenly the world seems
Such a perfect place

I like it.
