Can someone explain this base of 13 thing to me? I was looking it up on wikipedia a while ago about that whole 6*9 = 42 thing but they didn't explain how you're supposed to do calculations in different bases.

6*9 is 54
in base 10

In base 13 we count up to 13 before starting the second column of numbers, so we'd need symbols for 10, 11 and 12.
How many 13s go into 54? well, 4 13s are 52, as every card player knows, so that's 40, with 2 left over.
Hence, 42. Basically 13 becomes equivalent of 10.

Because it is evil, pure and simple. There are few cereals that I can say I actually hate, and that's one of 'em. More realistically though, it might be the texture. I always found that odd, and it may be irritating you.
