Recommend me something to watch! Preferably something, well, good. At the moment i'm looking for some kind of -punk, cyber, steam, whatever. A good sci-fi, horror, or comedy would be good, in that order of preference though. Language doesn't matter, nor does its availability, the internet is a wonderful place. I'd like something newer, so within 10 or so years, but if you really recommend it then the age doesn't matter. Thankya!

Ghost in the Shell (anime) though I'd go with the tv series ones 'Stand Alone Complex".
Kind of a 24+cyberpunk+NCIS.

When Gravity Fails by George Effinger. Novel of cyberpunk ghetto.

GURPS cyberpunk---paper roleplaying game for general cyberpunk settings.

Are you thinking a TV show, or movie? Live action, or anime? Does it matter?

While you plot to get rich quickly, keep these in mind: time and compound interest. Start saving early and regularly.

I'm not plotting to get rich quickly, it's just more slight worries about my chosen major, worrying that I'll just be a low level drone at best with my degree of some projects where I have more interest in more, groundbreaking things. It's just if I'm not going to be like an astrophysicist or astronomer I'd at least like to have a nice decent sum of money to do what I like(buy a Ferrari or something)

Also, question. Can anyone suggest any authors like HP Lovecraft? And not just the authors who went copying the Cthulhu stories, more the other stories like The Rats in the Walls and such. Or Orwell. Other things like him or does he have any other good stories other than 1984 and Animal Farm?

If you want to buy a ferrari, you should forget it. Seriously, too many people want to be rich - when I was young my ambition in life was to drive a car and own a house. If you want to get rich, do showbusiness or something - otherwise be a man and get a real job

A Ferrari isn't even that expensive really. I seem them all the time. Someone in my neighborhood has a freaking F430. To just want a meager existence would be a step backwards. I don't even care to be a multimillionaire, just to beat my uncle who could afford to buy his complete idiot son into Harvard just being a doctor.

Engineering maybe, but in my book it's not a 'real' job unless it involves hard work and going home covered in muck and sweat.

I see where you're coming from, but surely you'd allow for other skills, such as medicine?

I'd call an honest day's work one which applies specialist skill. Medics, engineers, builders, plumbers all apply their skills to have a direct effect.
Managers and clerks either have no skills or are merely living off other people's by making them apply them in the right way, having their effect only secondarily.

What about artists? What are the direct effects of a work of art? :) Do you consider that less of a job than... let's say, any kind of usual physical work? (e.g. street cleaning)

Artists - yes, unreservedly. They don't do anything, so while I don't mind having them around if people want to buy art I will never admire them.

If a chemist was covered in the stuff he was working with, he'd be dead. :p

I am thinking film in particular, but if you must recommend something else that's fine, and while I'm not a big fan of anime, again, if it's something you suggest I'll take it.

Let me share with you this short film I found while searching yesterday, I liked it!

For this Planet / Moon Setup, how high would the tides be compared to earth, if the planet was Earthlike, and assuming roughly circular orbits:

Planet:
Radius -- 7672 km
2 Earth Masses

Moon 1:
Radius -- 1306 km
0.005583 Earth Masses
121747 km from Planet

Moon 2:
Radius -- 2250 km
0.032504 Earth Masses
402782 km from Planet

How much of an effect does using readyboost with 4GB flash drive have on computer performance?

IDK. I think an ad on a product label claimed like 10-15%, but you have to have Vista.

Did you read from his literary circle already? E.g. Robert E. Howard, et all. REH wrote a few stories that were Cthulhoid in ways. Looking up Lovecraft's bio, August Derleth comes up. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/August_Derleth
