Can two brown dwarfs colliding / merging create a star?
As I understand it, stars don't tend to merge straight on. They fall into orbit around each other and when they get close enough the gravity of the larger one causes the smaller one to come apart. Mass flows from the smaller to the larger. As the one gets larger it would become a brighter star. But you would have to run a lot of brown dwarfs together before you got to a yellow star.Is there any truth to this?walking around with more than $10K in hand IS illegal.

That's for reporting cash payments. Being paid $10,000 in cash is not the same as possessing $10,000 in cash.I may have been mistaken, but if you don't report it, it's illegal.
E.g. IRS Form 8300. http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f8300.pdf
