My father was telling me once about how he was driving home from work at midnight and he said it suddenly became as bright as it would have been during daytime before turning dark again after a minute or two.

I have no way to explain this and it seems neither does he.

Do you live in a particularly rural part of Ontario? It was probably another Aum Shinkiryo DIY nuke.

Why does the United States hate women?

They haven't ratified the International Convention on Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women. The wiki article gets this information across in a humourous manner:

The seven UN member states that have not ratified the convention are Iran, Nauru, Palau, Somalia, Sudan, Tonga, and the United States. These are either Islamic states (Iran, Somalia, Sudan) or small Pacific Island nations (Nauru, Palau, Tonga), or the United States

Like the US is simply undefinable. It just is.

AMERIKKKAAAA WILL NOT BE BOUND TO UN TREATY!!! THIS IS AMERIKKKKA!!!!! WE"RE A SOVERGIN FREE NATION!!! NO SURRENDER!! OOOHHH RAAAAAHH!!

Or something like that.

I figured it would be some reason like that.

But I don't get why the US has fully ratified the Convention Against Torture, which I would have assumed they had some trouble conforming to the last few years.

The US under the Bush regime redefined torture to make it really broad so the US could go "Technically we're not torturing! It's strenuous interrogation thats all! Tehehehhehehehe!!!"

And so it went.

Yeah, "Enhanced Interrogation" was the buzz word I believe.

Although it seems the UN is taking a leaf out of the Bush administration book of creative definitions with their latest convention:

Convention for the Protection of all Persons from Enforced Disappearances

"Enforced Disappearances". Thats an interesting one.

Question: Suppose on a message board you're having a heated debate with someone. And they insult you and you don't insult them back but just argue about the points they made. And then they put you on ignore. Does that mean that you automatically win the debate?

I'll answer that with another question. Suppose a nation's armed forces are launching an offensive into an enemy area. After a few enemy missile attacks, their forces keep capturing vital enemy installations. The enemy retreats from the current theater of operations. Does that mean that said army won the battle?

How can I file for a patent in the US, Europe, India, Japan, and China simultaneously and what are the fees involved?

On the internet? No

So fellow running compatroits I've started running again after recovering from my injuries. I have new running shoes and clothes and now it feels a lot better to run.

However.../cry here we go again I've started getting blisters on my feet and I have no idea how to cure'em. I'm sure some of you have had this in the past.

Make the running less intense so calluses form instead of blisters.

In the meantime you can get either blister glue or compeed's to put on your feet.

If you're running with all new stuff that is probably why, especially if ill fitting or just not worn in. Perhaps try wearing a few pairs of old socks for the time being.

Whatever you do, don't purposefully pop them. I used to get really bad blisters on my hands from concept 2 (rowing) machines but it hurts more if they've been prematurely popped rather than just carrying on regardless.

That happened to me when I bought new shoes last month.

I'm not a girly man so I suffered through the pain and my feet learned not to blister after a week or so.

LOL I run on forest track and hard sharp rocks and i have to run away from bears and grass snakes on my runs it's tough. i don't want to run on grey concrete streets

Not as much as blisters. And you'll have less pain in the long run.

Our bodies suck tbh

Slap some medical tape on your feet and man up.

I got too much man thats the problem;)
