Businesses, how do they work?

How does porn indusrty work? I mean, where do their profits come from?

I think the cheap cost of most works of this genre make it easier to see a profit with little revenue. As was mentioned, I think subscribers, rentals and advertising provide a large chunk of that revenue. And I don't think anyone gets rich by making just one, they can crank these things out pretty quickly to make money.

Probably similar to other media being distributed electronically online as well as in retail stores.

To what extent do you agree or disagree with the "open container (of alcohol) in public" laws of your area? (Not to be confused with open container in a motor vehicle laws)

xD someone should take an empty alcohol bottle and then put Sprite in it, and then walk outside a police station, get taken into custody, and then tell them "it's just Sprite", but they don't believe you. Then they do a test and realize you're right. I'd love to see them try to apologize for that.

They shouldn't have to apologize, you were the one being dumb in the first place.

I'm pretty sure they would not apologize on account of reasonable suspicion, and there might be other consequences for pulling such a prank.

Im in full agrement with my local laws that it is legal to carry open containers on foot or in a car. Small areas can be designated "no street drinking" zones on an annual basis by a magistrate if there have been specific problems.

There is no reason I shouldnt have a beer to wash down by barby on the beach, or a glass of wine with my picnic in the park. The suggestion is could concievably be criminal to have a beer in the passenger seat of a car is a gross infringment on a liberty I exercise as often as possible.

In the past I haven't exactly been a model student in the past. But this year I've really turned things around. In the past I always thought he was just treating me unfairly, but I realize now what I've done is wrong. I also haven't exactly shown him the utmost respect I should have. I want to apologize and tell him about how I've made mistakes and what-not. I really am sorry for causing some trouble in the past. Also, this would help me reaffirm my position as a counselor for the high school once I graduate (this is my senior year). So, should I apologize to my principal for everything and share my thoughts and feelings on why I did what I did?

Oh and before you ask what I did, I'll just tell you: I spammed his forum with topics about American imperialism.

OK here's my not worth it's own thread question:

Has anyone here ever done a dutch oven? ---When you're in bed and pull the sheets over someone's head and fart. It's a practical joke.

What is the best e-reader?

If you have the kind of principal that you can just waltz into the office and share your stories/problems, I'd say go for it. But in my experience, the principal I had was too busy with other things, that I didn't want to bother her. You could try talking w/ a counselor or a sympathetic teacher that you're on good terms with.

I would do it in person also, if you want to be a counselor there.

QUESTION:

How much loss of quality will a 12 foot long s-video cable experience?

I heard somewhere that the universe background radiation pattern resembles some sort of "axis of evil". But from what I've read, no one's saying just what this "axis of evil" is, except that it is an "axis of evil".

Just what the hell are they talking about? What is this "universal axis of evil" that has everyone in a frenzy? What does it look like, exactly?

Now, something unexpected has cropped up in that afterglow - a feature dubbed "the axis of evil". Some think it is being caused by the gravity of a tremendous concentration of 100,000 galaxies in our cosmic backyard. Others say it is telling us there is something wrong with our big bang picture of the Universe.
