I just hate Patrick Swazye and all the other characters and their ridiculous haircuts, bad acting, and stupid lines. Seriously all the Americans were just dislikable characthers.
The most awesome were Colonel Bella and that Russian special forces dude.
And bad hair more so.

I don't recall if I've seen that movie or if I have seen parts of it don't remember, but everything you've said here makes perfect sense. I was actively rooting for the destruction of all the night-elves in the movie Avatar and in favor of the only cool, terran characters, despite of course that not being the intention the filmmakers.
Exactly! Why should I root for blue alien native American hippies who live in tree's when I can root for the bad ass Colonel with an awesome mech whose an utter bastard? He was probably the best acted character, he knew how to play an arsehole amazingly well.
Similarly in the new Karate Kid movie I was hoping for that Chinese kid with the badass Mohawk to win, man that guy didn't even have any lines in the movie and we only saw him briefly at the end but the way he straightned him mohwak just before starting a fight, that just said it all it showed how awesome he was. If they made a movie about him I would watch it.

Does anybody else find the "Southern Gentleman" accent strangely enthralling? I swear to God, I could just sit and watch the Confederate scenes from Gettysburg all day.

I like Southern accents. I dont know what a southern gentleman accent is though.

What is a waterphone? I googled it and got a website but I cant figure out what the damn thing is. Its in the credits. Wikipedia says "A waterphone is a unique type of atonal acoustic musical instrument constructed largely of a stainless steel resonator "bowl" with a cylindrical "neck", which may or may not contain a small amount of water, and with brass rods around the rim of the bowl. The waterphone produces a vibrant ethereal type of music sometimes classified as "ambient music."" but I dont understand this
