Fifty, or any other person who knows philosophy or smthing.

What philosopher/guy came up with that argument about "existence". The fact that you can't prove something exists by using your senses?

I hope you understand what i'm talking about. :crazyeye: This thing was even used in the matrix.
 
well... (going back to the last question) to get scientific, studies show that what men 'look for' in a woman is influenced by genetics... very large and defined eyes are usually something that attract men to women, so mascara seems like it'd come in handy

but that's just scientific... I don't think girls should have to doll themselves up to impress someone

I actually never buy mine until after the first day of class, or at least until I hear the Professor discuss the syllabus. After a year, you'll make a few important discoveries

1) Books a hella expensive yo
2) You don't always need every book that is asigned. Check the syllabus, and talk to the prof. If you're only going to use a book in class for one test, or for a week or so..its better to check it out of the library than to spend 80 bucks on it.

There are department/political pressures to assign books that may not be critical to understanding all of the material. If you're willing to pay close attention and be resourceful, you can save a lot of money by employing other resources.

At some schools, the proffessors are required to assign a book for the class. Whether or not they actually use it depends on thier personal style. Since books are "hella expensive yo", as downtown so nicely put it, I think it would pay to find out if you're really going to need them or not before laying down the cash.
 
A lot of people are saying that I should just go to the first day of classes (here and in real life) and find out what's on the syllabus and what the professor says I'll need before getting all gung-ho about buying books,

so I'm just going to wait and then I won't even have to pay for any of my books at all because hopefully my scholarship will register within the next week and a half.

Should I take the ACT earlier or later in my Junior year? I hear it takes up to 7 weeks to get results back...So I figure I should try to have my results for that well before I apply to a college. But then again some people are saying you learn a lot of what's on the ACT during Junior and Senior years so it's best to wait a bit.

From what I remember, granted that it's been a while, the ACT tests your ability to reason more than it tests the amount of stuff you have been taught. I'd say go ahead and take it right away.

I'd imagine its more of your mind thinking it tastes different because its a different temperature. the way warm water feels isn't as nice as the way cold water does

so, I guess what the real quick answer is...

its more refreshing that way :p

It's not required to actually buy books at all.

I would never recommend buying books new, look for used books before and after classes start, find people in your classes to study with, get books from the library, etc.

I'd take the SAT once in the spring of your junior year (in March), the ACT in late spring (in June), and the SAT II (in May). In your senior year, you should take the ACT or SAT again, depending on which you will do better on.

Other way around: SAT tests reason, ACT tests what you've learned.
 
Yeah, the SAT is the reason and ability to draw conclusions test. That's why it'll be the one I probably do way better on. I'm going to dick up the ACT math section though.
