Narz
keeping it real
By now I'm sure many of you have been exposed to the evil that is LazyTown. If not, here is the video (thanks Ultima Dragoon) : http://youtube.com/watch?v=xxdSfbkotrc.
At first glance it seems fun and innocent but underneath there is a very sinister messege. Watch the video, read my analysis and decide for yourself.
Under the knife (forgive the pun) :

to bake a pretty cake if the way is hazy
you gotta do the cooking by the book you know you can't be lazy
never use a messy recipe the cake would end up crazy
if you do it by the book then you'll have a cake
we gotta have it made you know that I love cake
finally it's time to make a cake
Under the knife (forgive the pun) :
Attempting to program into our children that looks (pretty) and nutritionally void (physically and spirtually) sense pleasures are what is worth pursuing in life.I'ts a piece of cake
to bake a pretty cake
Is the way hazy? Perhaps it is not. Perhaps life doesn't have to be so confusing and difficult.if the way is hazy
The messege here is pretty blatent - don't think for yourself. Don't be creative or innovation. Follow orders or things will inevitably go wrong.you gotta do the cooking by the book
"You know" is a phrase many parents are familiar with as a way to induce guilt. "You know" implies that the child should know what is socially accepted of them and implies mild to severe emotional chastisement or withdrawal if the child continues to go against "the rules". The "you can't be lazy" bit is a strong command that the government and powers that be have used since civilization began. The powerful have always feared creative minds with free time. "Working hard" has been the order of the day for the common man (or little girl), rats kept busy in a race (against each other of course, they should be trained not to strive higher) are less likely to revolt... or find a better way.you know you can't be lazy
Do not aim for high adventure or take any risks with untried "recipes" in life. Follow familiar paths to familiar results. "Crazy" is another strong judgemental word, especially for a child. No kid wants to be weird or crazy. Be a good little conformist and don't make a mess!never use a messy recipe the cake would end up crazy
If you do it by the book you'll have a meaningless life but at least you'll have a predictable sense pleasure you can use to numb it out.if you do it by the book then you'll have a cake
"Gotta" have it made, eh? What if... we didn't have to have it made? And what's this "we" stuff anyway? It's your cake, girly. Don't try to build some false rapport with me. It's not my cake. I never signed up to make it. Don't misuse the word "love" to try to pull my in. I ain't no Lifetime channel watching sap who cues his moods right along with a movie's music. I don't cake if you love cake!we gotta have it made you know that I love cake
Poor kids, their highest aspiration to come home and make a cake. And we wonder why their's a childhood obesity problem in this country. Cake & diet pills, expensive toys (for kids & adults) & credit card repayment plans, alcohol & rehab, terror, terrorists & military intervention. Don't be fooled. This is just another cog in the wheel of the military industrial complex! Just say no to Stephanie!finally it's time to make a cake
