You are so correct. We are starting to gain a big reputation in the internation wine industry as a a world leader. So Rambuchan, you are quite correct to bejonatas said:Plus Australians make damn fine wines, so it can't be that unmanly....
Very good point El Justo. It is a matter of venue. Wine drinking at a sporting event or hanging with the boys is just wrong. At a cocktail party it's suspect (red over white for sure) but if the setting is over dinner when you're putting on the full court press it is a magnificent closing mechanism.El Justo said:ahh...wine drinking is okay in a fixed setting or w/ dinner or whatever. they even say that a glass of red a day is good for the heart. drinking it while watching a ball game, or out w/ the fellas is kinda weird but hey, if that's your bag then so be it.[/IMG]

Real men only drink the best. This is not an issue of price, but of quality.Rambuchan said:@ Jonatas & Hero: Yeah Aussie wines are good but I don't see how this relates to manliness at all!
Don't pigeon hole this as North American. I do the same with family and lovers. I simply wouldn't drink it in a pub (tavern in my case) with my mates. I live in a beer and shot kind of town. An example of acceptable venues, tonight I am going to see Elvis Costello and Emmylou Harris the concert is outdoors with a picnic atmosphere so wine will be the alcohol of choice. A Castello Banfi Brunello for me and a nice Cakebread Chardonnay for my girl.jonatas said:I think in North America people look at wine like it's an aristocratic thing... Whomp said:This topic may be a region specific issue. In San Francisco, like southern Europe, it would be perfectly acceptable to drink wine in a bar because of the access to Napa and Sonoma etc. However, I would like to know how many fans of AC Milan bring a nice chianti to the game?
jonatas said:to try to make it on topic, if you're going to drink Crown Royal, you have to drink it straight, or on ice.... Real men DON'T MIX
Rambuchan said:Gentlemen: Please be informed that the Roadtrip Bill has been passed. Also, my thanks to you all for your manly assistance on the much debated Alcohol Bill. This has been considered and passed too. There are also two further additions to the Macho Statute Book - making it 4 new rules in all! Look for the <<< !!! @ Winston: What exactly is it that you are on about?![]()
