OCTOBER - DECEMBER 1936 UPDATE
BEGINNING OF THE SPANISH CIVIL WAR: On 17 July 1936, the Spanish Army of Africa lauched a coup against the Spanish Republic. Madrid (3) added to locations.
HYPERMARKETS GO TO GROUND. Across the globe, assets with ties to the Hypermarkets have gone to ground. While the attempt by the Delhi Hypermarket and Sao Paulo Hypermarket to go to ground has failed, the following assets have become hidden.
These are the conversations being had at a small, social circle in New York City.
SOVIETS IN SAO PAULO. The Sao Paulo Railway Company is, by all appearances, a British-owned railway business. It's profitability is not doubt; just its employees and management. Rumors are circulating from New York to London that the Soviet Department of Special Studies has gained a significant foothold in the control and operation of this company and is embezzling money toward more...creative enterprises.

EVENTS
While the common man may suffer from bouts of surprise, people on your level are not. You are aware of some events coming down the pipe and can have the opportunity to shape them. Many events are contests. Each contest has its own special rules and is time-sensitive, but success can change the course of history and give your secret society a seat at the table.
For all events, secret societies may pool their scores. This means sharing in the outcome.
THE GREAT PURGES
There are rumors of purges coming soon in the USSR focused on the location of Moscow.
Rules: Assets on this location can increase a faction's score in the conflict with Attack actions. When an asset attacks to influence the Great Purge, it must make sense fictionally as with any attack action. As assets attack, the faction gains score in the Great Purge that is tied to the asset. An asset that destroys an asset with Great Purge score gains half that asset's score. The targeted faction loses that score.
1st Place: +4 XP, Society dictates how the Great Purges end and gains 20 Power.
2nd Place: +2 XP. All assets at the location get one free hide attempt immediately after this event resolves.
3rd Place: +1 XP All assets at the location get one free hide attempt immediately after this event resolves.
All other assets at this location at the conclusion of the Great Purge lose Hidden.
This event will last until OCTOBER - DECEMBER 1938 or until certain, secret, criteria are met.
US PRESIDENT ELECTIONS
Franklin D. Roosevelt is running for a second term this year. Many believe he will win, but who knows what can happen between October and November?
Locations: Chicago, New Orleans, New York City, San Francisco, Washington D.C.
Rules: Assets in these locations can increase their faction's score in this event with versus Influence attacks. A successful versus Influence attack does not reveal the asset! If an asset is not hidden, it can not perform this action.
Alternatively: versus Muscle attacks can be made. Asset that perform these attacks will lose hidden. If the asset is destroyed, the destroying asset gains half the destroyed asset's score.
1st Place: +4 XP. Society dictates how the election ends and gains 25 Power.
2nd Place: +2 XP.
3rd Place: +1 XP
This event will last until JANUARY - MARCH 1937 barring special events.
ABDICATION CRISIS IN THE UNITED KINGDOM
Rumors swirl that Edward VIII will soon abdicate. It is up to those with good sense to determine the future for the rest of us.
Location: London
Rules: Assets in London can increase their faction's score in this event with versus Influence attacks. A successful versus Influence attack does not reveal the asset! If an asset is not hidden, it can not perform this action.
Alternatively: versus Muscle attacks can be made. Asset that perform these attacks will lose hidden. If the asset is destroyed, the destroying asset gains half the destroyed asset's score.

Somewhere in the world, a leader angrily reads a newspaper.
"All that potential profit," said the leader "And we we little chance of gaining anything from it!"
"Not necessarily true," said the leader's advisor "We still have some men in London who would be able to influence the abdication."
"But not enough to make a real difference." The leader said, angrily.
"Ah, but if we cooperate with others..." The advisor said, with a slight smile. The leader pondered for a moment.
"Yes," said the leader "There would be some profit in that. More profit than if we did nothing. Very well, contact the Postmen."
A letter was delivered to the leader of every secret society in the world by an indescribable postman. The letter was cleared to be safe to read by all conventional and hypergeometric measures. Inside the letter was this:

SWINGING AN ELECTION. An operative associated with [REDACTED] will be using his influence in Chicago to begin swaying the result of the coming US election as an attack for the Presidential Election. Should the attack not be intercepted, it will automatically succeed.
