Hey everyone!

I just love SimCity4, and I've wondered why there isn't a thread for it.

So I've decided to make this thread. This can be the thread for showing off our metropolises, our mighty regions, anything SimCity4 related.

Maybe we can even start a region and play it cooperatively. That would be fun!

I've actually have it installed, but i think my city got lost. I found the game to be too easy, once you've managed to secure a decent income. (which is fun, though!)

I know it CAN be done, but I'm not sure HOW. I think that if I posted the file of a region here and you downloaded it, we could play region play. But that may be too difficult.

I had a lot of trouble keeping my cities in the black. I also had trouble getting the game to run smoothly once my cities started to get large, which led to me not playing the game after a while. I never did get the expansion or later patches though, which I think were supposed to sort out the ridiculous traffic problems (which no doubt contributed to other things as well).

Overall I was disappointed with it. I think SimCity 2000 is a much better game overall. I should probably try it again on my (fairly) new comp, which shouldn't have the choppiness and delays.

If you do don't forget to add your island to CFCopolis ;)

I love SimCity 4. It was somewhat difficult to learn but I am able to turn a profit. And if I just want to make a pretty city, there are literally tonnes of custom content out there for it, although mostly for Rush Hour.

I love SimCity 4, though I no longer have a copy of it. It was the first SimCity I actually grasped how to play properly. Or half-decently, at least. Put together a fairly nice region with my flatmate one time.

It's not too hard. The big secret is adjusting funding to schools and powerplants, etc. You can save thousands of dollars. Although some people don't like the micromanagement. But hey, we're civvers. Aren't we supposed to be good at micromanagement?

And if you still need more money, tax industrial. It'll stick around, I've barely ever seen abandoned industrial.

I like making archipelago regions. Saves the problem of reconciling borders.

And do tell the truth, I think SC3K was the hardest SimCity. But meh, that's just me. I was new to gaming when I played it.
