The Sims 2 | "Nehru" Legacy Challenge (Reader Participation Welcome)

Would be nice, though. There's also the mixed-gender possibility.

Obviously Apollo and Artemis :p.. like another Legacy I once saw...

I was going to go with those two in the case of a mixed-pair! ;)

Nehru Legacy 2.3:
---------------------------------
2legacy1.jpg

Will the arrival of twins give Kaiser a run for his money?

2legacy2.jpg

....considering this little guy is named Romulus and he has a little kid brother named Remus, I'd say so!

2legacy3.jpg

Chris, you don't look so good.

2legacy4.jpg

Weren't ready for a pair of twins just a stone's throw from old age, eh?

2legacy5.jpg

Hiero, you may want to offer a comforting word or a pat on the back to your wife. (And Kaiser seems to be ENERGETICALLY protesting the new crib.)

2legacy6.jpg

...woman, you have two perfectly REAL babies in the nursury! Go play with them.

..only you can't, because Hiero and Tatiana are hogging them.

2legacy7.jpg

You wanted hands on work, Hiero? How's this?

2legacy8.jpg

Kaiser comes of age! He's a Family/Knowledge sim.

2legacy9.jpg

...and Hiero surprises me by going into old age. I hadn't been paying attention to him since the births of Tatiana and Kaiser.

2legacy10.jpg

Boy, did this surprise me. The game developed an odd glitch where everyone wanted to pick Remus up, but no one could. I'd cancel the action, but Chris just stood in front of the crib, not responding to any of my orders. I tried moving the crib and baby around with move_objects on to see if that fixed the problem, but it didn't. I deleted Chris, but that didn't work, so I deleted Remus and reloaded the game. That fixed the problem, but when I reentered the house, Chris was sporting her pregnancy belly again. She wasn't actually pregnant (thankfully), but Hiero could still "Talk to Belly" and "Rub Belly". She could "Try for Baby" in bed, and yet the carpool didn't come -- just like if she were pregnant.

I'm going to say she went crazy, wasn't ready to give birth, and was pretending the twins were still inside her stomach. She's now wearing one of those fake pregnancy bellies to convince herself.

2legacy11.jpg

One of the rules, or at least common practices, in a Legacy challenge is to have a portrait of the Founder and each of his Heirs. Tatiana and Kaiser are competing to see who can paint the best portrait: Tatiana's is the clear winner.

2legacy12.jpg

Uh oh, he's mobile.

2legacy13.jpg

Remus is actually a day younger than Romulus now, owing to my having to 'delete' him. (I used move_objects on to 'delete' him when trying to fix that crib hang-up. They're never actually deleted. That has to be done by household, or by editing the files manually, and it is not recommended as it messes up the entire neighborhood's memories and such.)

2legacy14.jpg

Poor, deluded Chris. Tatiana and Kaiser both take an active hand in raising their rivals to the throne, largely because Chris is typically sleeping, starving, or complaining, and Hiero is off pouring concrete.

2legacy15.jpg

Romulus, meanwhile, has grown quickly into childhood and is priming his mind for strategy.

While Romulus and Remus mature, though, Tatiana is off to college -- update soon to follow. (This would've been a 30-pic post, but I'm breaking it down into halves.)

2.3, continued
--------------------------
2legacy16.jpg

Tatiana's only four days away from adulthood, so I send her off to college. Though she probably won't be heir, I'm going to use her to build a little college cottage for the future heirs when they go to university.

2legacy17.jpg

It's a cozy little place, and by the time her four years are up it will have a double bed, a dishwasher, and various skilling objects. I don't play her through all eight semesters: instead, once she gets her grades up, I use a hacked object to let her go directly to her final exam.

2legacy18.jpg

Though a Drama major, Tatiana's college years are relatively quiet. She maximizes her Logic and Creativity, loses her pudge, and becomes more adept in Charisma, Body, and Cooking. Also, she sets the kitchen on fire trying to prepare a pork chop.

2legacy19.jpg

4.0, Summa Cum Laude. I intend on moving her back into the Legacy house once the question of heir has been decided: I like her enough that she can play nursemaid to the heir's kids even if she's not chosen heir.

2legacy20.jpg

Couldn't have an update without you passing out, could we Chris? It just wouldn't be the same.

2legacy21.jpg

Kaiser is very interested in sports and has taken up basketball in an effort to lose his own pudge.

2legacy22.jpg

Remus grows up, to the disdain of Romulus.

2legacy23.jpg

:goodjob:

2legacy24.jpg

Heh, heh, heh.

2legacy25.jpg

It is entirely too early to make your bid for power, Romulus!

(That would be the parents' bed in the master bedroom...)

2legacy26.jpg

While they dance, Romulus prepares.

2legacy27.jpg

Inspired or intimidated by his example, all the Nehru men start skilling.

2legacy28.jpg

...what in the name of...

Hiero, why are you wearing the outfit males wear after they've been abducted and impreganted by aliens? You've not been abducted, and you're not pregnant, and you're OLD so you can't get pregnant.

God, you two are weird.

2legacy29.jpg

If he gets fired, he loses his only shot of becoming a City Planner -- because the only jobs Elders can get are part-time gigs that don't go anywhere. That in mind, he tells the young whipper-snapper to bugger off.

2legacy30.jpg

That'll teach `em to mess with this Government Researcher/Theorist-turned-day laborer!

Well! Tatiana's graduated from college, Kaiser will soon be ready for it, and the twins have a long childhood to look forward to. What will they make of it?

Dayyumm, whenever I play Sims I can only handle 1-2 kids.. and once upon a time 3..

I got an Apocalypse Legacy to Generation Five before getting completely bored and de-installing the entire game to create space on my HD.

@Arakhor: The only time I've tried this before was with a "war" challenge that only took three generations. In my standard game, I have families hovering around generations six and seven, but that's...2 years of playtime with the current hood.

Nehru Legacy 2.4

flegacy1.jpg

I expect great things of a robot built by a delusional Mad Scientist, but what shall its name be?

flegacy2.jpg

Hiero: Meh.

flegacy4.jpg

Old age finds Chris still wearing her fake pregnancy belly. When will she give this up?

flegacy5.jpg

Hiero, who is becoming increasingly withdrawn from his family, decides what the kitchen needs is a grand piano.

flegacy6.jpg

It's a bit too soon to start shopping for heiresses, Kaiser. Your brothers appear intent on giving you competition.

flegacy7.jpg

No pickelhaube?

flegacy8.jpg

Tatiana, all grown up!

flegacy9.jpg

The next morning, I spot Kaiser's girlfriend Amber waiting for the bathroom. Apparantly she stayed the night. The entire family doesn't sleep all at the same time, so there are usually extra beds for visitors to sneak into: Romulus' days tend to start around one AM, when he wakes up and starts scheming/painting/body-training.

flegacy10.jpg

Hiero: Meh.

flegacy11.jpg

....

flegacy12.jpg

Romulus comes of age!

flegacy13.jpg

...the very clothes he was wearing when he transitioned.

flegacy14.jpg

So nice to see you two getting along. Remus will grow up in a day or so, but apparently I forgot to take a picture of that.

flegacy15.jpg

Redhead: World domination?
Romulus: GALACTIC domination. No, UNIVERSAL domination.

flegacy16.jpg

Romulus is quite the charmer.

flegacy17.jpg

If he's not asleep, chances are Hiero is skilling frantically so he can go to work with a Platinum aspiration. (Being a Knowledge sim, he's made happier by becoming more proficient in all manner of things.)

flegacy18.jpg

Nice going, Remus. And apparantly one of Romulus' potential belles stayed over, too.

flegacy19.jpg

Romulus, meanwhile, searches the seas for pirates to drive away.

flegacy20.jpg

...and Kaiser scoots off to college.

flegacy21.jpg

Hiero: Meh.

flegacy22.jpg

Moving Kaiser away was thoughtless of me, as he had replaced Chris as the family's social butterfly. Can the family make four friends (which Hiero needs for his next promotion) before he comes home from work?

flegacy23.jpg

YES! It must've happened JUST in the final seconds, too, because when I looked at 4:55 he was still one friend short! Now he's got his lifetime wish and can die happy. Whaddya say to THAT, Hiero?

"Meh".

Oh, well.

....

Given that Kaiser is off in college and our Founder is....much closer to death than life, it's time to choose an heir. I sense Kaiser and Romulus are the fan favorites, but which of them will win out? And is there any love for Tatiana and Remus?

(If you've voiced a preference for one before, it doesn't matter: this is the Official Vote.)

Feel free to suggest names for the Giant Death Robot, too!

Kaiser Kaiser Kaiser. UNIVERSAL DOMINATION!

@ Zelet: $80,000+. :)

I like it when outsiders claim the prize. Tatiana for the heritage.

You've got to have a proper patriarchy - Kaiser it is!
