There is an option in the game to use 'counters' instead of the unit graphics. The advantage is they show the exact unit type with a symbol and wil lalways show the direction of movement so you know moreo r less exactly which region that enemy unit is moving too. With the unit graphics it's confusing.

Quite. Although Vicky also lacks the level of unit variety that counters are good for managing, and the images are distinct enough that you can easily tell most things from most other things.

I think he wants a picture? He already has a battleship, now for a carrier.

He wants a model for the carrier in Rise of Nations that looks like a period carrier for World War 2 to replaced the angled deck carrier which are more modern. So basically he wants a carrier that looks like the HMS Ark Royal, rather than the HMS Ark Royal.
