The Sound of Drums - A British Hearts of Iron II AAR

If the Japanese don't appear to be in range of my precious India I may request a transfer to Europe in time to liberate Europe

Theres only so much I can teach these Indians

I would have hoped my bombers could finished them off. :(

Not at the moment. All our troops in Africa are dedicated to defeating the Italian forces there, which means we ar in no position to provide a rapid response to a Greek invasion. Let us hope Riptide and PrinceScamp can resolve the African conflict quickly!

Absolutely, im afraid i dint put across that I meant after the Africa campaign had been finished quite clearly enough. Africa must be wrapped up before we go divvying up the forces there.

Good show. A naval victory and italy continues to show the world that it can retreat just as well as France. Victory in Africa is all but assured. I'll wait until the victory is actually achieved before i give my two cents on troop deployment though.

I want the Tirpitz now as well :(

Surely the only thing that's holding the Japanese from outright invasion is your own illustrious presence?

I would have hoped my bombers could finished them off. :(

I didn't even think to send them. The entire battle took about five hours, mind.

I want the Tirpitz now as well :(

That last update was practically a dedication to your efforts in taking out the Bismarck, and all I get is "I want the Tirpitz." Bloody fleet officers.

I quite agree, however I've promised myself to do something worthy of a history book that isn't based on being extremely British

all history books are based on being extremely British, because we are the ones writing it.

: puts on glasses: But how does it make you feel? :dramatically removes glasses:

Well it's all well and jolly that we sunk the Bismarck but his evil twin lives on. We cant allow that.

Outstanding news from the channel! My special congratulations to the crew of the HMS Nelson!

Britain waives the rules and all that. What ho.

Well Historically the Bismarck sank before the Tirpitz, the Tirpitz was sunk in 1944 (?) I believe, so we have plenty of time. Take your time Kan, quantity is never as good as quality.

I'll put you back to Britain on the next flight, you may have your choice of commission then :)

I read a brilliant quote on another AAR that I have stolen from time to time: "History was being written, and Brittania held the pen."

I'll be damned if I remember where I read it, mind.

But a bit of punctuality never hurt. I'll get the next update done this coming week,

I say old chaps, how about sending the Ministry of Silly Walks a brief recap of the latest happenings. I'm afraid during our setup in India, we wound up taking a short nap on the beach, and ended up lounging around the entire time.

Short story as of August 1940: Germany is pretty much as historical, except for a proper battle for Norway. Italy is on the run, being defeated from the east and the west in its Libyan holdings. Japan is as historical, though we prepare for war against them.

After much time away in seclusion to conduct my research I am now finished and can state with 99.97% accuracy that the best flavour of crisps is Prawn Cocktai........ wait........ we're at war with WHO?

Also, given the apparent lack of a science minister, I propose the duty be divided between myself and the Ministry of Silly Walks. (They being well versed in the R&D process)

We are currently blowing the Italians to smithereens like we are the Tsar Bomba!
I hope we get to see some action on the eastern front soon.

I shall convey my joy of your return with a simple "squee!"

Salt and Vinegar defeats Prawn Cocktail every time.

If Superbeaver wishes it, then I have no problem with that. And since there's probably not going to be an update today (I'll try tomorrow evening, as long as no-one demands Left 4 Dead action :p) I'll give you the long awaited industrial report:

Resources and Budget

This fluctuates daily, so it isn't a very good indicator of how well we are doing. In short, we usually have a surplus of all resources with the exception of money - however thanks to the U.S.A. we shouldn't have any problems with cash for a few years.

Production

Spoiler :

The bulk of production is going towards the construction of the Fourth Armada and the "Battle" of Britain.

Convoy's and Escorts

The convoy system is doing fine, though we are rather short on escort craft. Thanks to the Royal Navy's efforts we have had very little to fear from German submarines attacking our convoy fleets. Britain shall not be starved.

Research and Development

Nothing too magnificent at the moment. In the near future I want to focus on applying new doctrines and tactics that we have learnt from our initial clashes with the enemy.
