The new image shows that the jet launched by Centaurus A is brighter at the edges compared to the center. This phenomenon is known from other jets, but has never been seen so pronouncedly before. “Now we are able to rule out theoretical jet models that are unable to reproduce this edge-brightening. It’s a striking feature that will help us better understand jets produced by black holes,”

I assumed jets shot out the poles but that image doesn't look like the galaxy is aligned with the spinning black hole's equator. The outer edges of the jet are brighter too, I assume that means hotter. Could be like a tornado or hurricane, the eye wall isolates the center as air twists and turns outward. Are jets material that joined the black hole and were shot out or spun around so fast it was ejected at the poles? Anyway, the image got me wondering why the jets weren't perpendicular to the rotating galaxy.

https://phys.org/news/2021-07-planetary-shields-buckle-stellar-dying.html

For any planet to maintain its magnetosphere throughout all stages of stellar evolution, its magnetic field needs to be at least one hundred times stronger than Jupiter's current magnetic field.

Now I think life is very durable and would survive surface extinctions that depend less on the atmosphere and magnetosphere, but I didn't know white dwarves dont produce solar winds. And during stellar evolution for stars in ours range the habitable zone varies from the Earth's orbit to twice the distance of Neptune during the red giant phase. That means if we survive we'll be living on moons around the outer gas giants.

baffling times ... Some sort of electrical issue or something , extension cords do not work or the power stuff of the laptop is old enough to cause short circuits in the said cords . Even if keyboard strokes are said to be "visible" since 90s . Fridge got some issues with "door open" alert , it is really annoying after 20 or 30 minutes ... Certainly no warranty coverage but hey , it has stopped as well . Don't know why it happens , maybe new people on the job ?

baffling only on a personal level , America offended by Sukhoi , now promises to have Steve like by 2060 . Will have to look up for that but it doesn't stop the blog which dispenses Pentagon lies ... lt has a comment that America had shields in 1980 . ı think adhesive tape production in 3M or something where static electric building up to make a barrier people could not walk through . Very humid mornings required and nobody can tell how or reproduce the effect at will , you know , like cold fusion always working whenever ı turn it up . And yeah , Pentagon has allowed the machine to operate in adhesive tapes instead of confiscating it on the spot and shooting everyone involved , supposedly sold by 1990s and nobody knows its location in 1995 ...

and of course the Sukhoi offence . There was this Roper guy running tech for USAF in Pentagon and was like even muzzled in places for naming his name as if ı was ever on that level and his most brilliant success has been the design of a 6th generation plane in a year , which might have been built or might have not , might have flown or might have not and might have gone supersonic or might have not . Then 'ing Soviets have a replica or mockup or fiberglass shell or full time to be flown give time , in a year , after reading it on the internet that it is possible to use multiple computers and do stuff , in a year . 'Ing Soviets afterall ... Multiple American hacking attacks and pressure on Putin , like the dictator of Russia , that there should be no full drama . Like because no Sukhoi official will ever confirm that this lndian military attache had a heart attack / spasm or something when the full video was on , with two or three dancers because the West apparently now has stri pper troupes when launching warships in places like Australia and the PR campaign is totally found to be amazing ... Which reportedly has translated into lndian forums as "Russian h rlots" are trying to sabotage lndian re-armament with fake stuff ... While Putin really looking not that happy to hear that it will really cost 30 million dollars a copy in 2020s , while the F-35 was supposed to cost under 35 in 1990s dollars ... No early flying , but like totally natural that in 2023 . So that the second son-in-law of the PM can finish his jet fighter like drone ... As the PM looks unhealthy , like creating the future basis of rumours that Congregation has bribed his medical team and is running the country with drugging and stuff . No money around , so that they are inviting toothless Western pressure about selling land from the Magosa , some formerly rich zone in Cyprus where multinationals owned hotels in 1974 . Supposedly Azeris would recognize Northern Cyprus as an independent country but the British pressure on New Turkey was like immense and the PM's good news that would cause rejoice and much happiness in the country was limited to the construction of a palace , notionally for the use of the President person of North Cyprus , who otherwise was living in a shanty , as described by the PM ... Yeah , fully aviation related , to be topped with some silly r16 claim that the third competitor of the JSF contest has been now realized , through stupid Russians stealing Northrop plans ...

and debate whether it is one or two types that lack horizontal tails until the end of times .

not that baffling . A Russian forum makes a note that the Sukhoi's landing gear happens to be a match fof the F-14s . The Chinese now have more experience of conventinal flight operations off deck than Russians and their 3rd carrier will be a "regular" one ; and when people start driving fusion power plant trucks , catapulting planes on dry land might make a come back ; and yeah another of the ; sign but MiG 29 had a very short take off distance and almost the triple the length of landing even with parachutes and the Shturmovik traditions might be cool to remember for the opening shots , now travelling at hypersonic speed and so on ...

a famous F-14 display pilot of yesteryears dies in a private plane crash .

have issues of logging in some website which luckily goes away soon .

echo chamber has an odd discussion of British Prime Ministers hand writing letters to the captains of British missile submarines about their specific orders in case UK is destroyed in a nuclear war , as if the SSBNs wouldn't be sunk rightaway , especially in any non-nuclear war ... and because the thread is allowed to linger , it loses so much of the potency because there will be those to remind of the British politicians who supposedly ordered their military not to retaliate if a dictator nuked London , because Saddam's lraq had to be invaded in the name of holy Halliburton and stuff !

leave it to Americans , dude ! Whose Defence Secretary has his plane land in Area 51 , spends 6 hours on the ground before leaving for a tour of 3 Asian countries , on alliance against China stuff and uh and oh , we hear how there are American planes which are visible to radar (at will) and they break the laws of physics ... Come on , let us get our lesson and deserved end and destruction ... How can you ever lose ?

edit : Deleted a smilie that appeared against my will . Probably it was forum software .

ı must have suffered from fat fingers as people would know me to never use smilies ... Or maybe it was a shorthand form that led to forum software to take it as a smilie . Morning's haul of the web brings in the ideas that spies call the Sukhoi as the Screamer , you know instead of anything of an F word , because there are Americans who have been unhappy with Sukhois ending up with Flanker , some so-called football term , instead of something much like fggt , free publicity for Commies . This would of course denote the range figures are only one way or the mighty Western airpower will always catch it and it will never return to airfields and in practice it will be like just a SAM or a very expensive Scud . ı do not expect it to be repeated because the guy who writes it happens to be one who has been expecting the fall of Syria for a decade now , despite his close links to the German intelligence types . He was expecting the very last gasp of air from the Russian/Soviet/Russian aeronautics to be the MiG 41 , the Mach 4+ replacement for Foxhound , ignoring the thing that Sukhoi's so called Checkmate immediately clears the board for full development of a Russian interceptor ghat can fire upto space ... German spies hear things , though translation might be suffering somewhat as he kept insisting that it would be a Mig until the very day the show opened . Yeah , expect 6 months or so to have grumpy Putin to appear back ... No smilies .

Lake Huron investigators got microbial mats from about 80 ft down from the bottom and exposed them to varying periods of sunlight and measured the oxygen they produced.

They concluded increasingly longer days may have caused Earth's oxygenation event 2-2.4bya leading to plant and animal life.

In other news, the oldest animal may have lived almost 1bya, I cant remember if it was a sponge or something else but the fossil was found in Canada

It may be a sponge, that may have looked like the below. There is a lot of doubt about it, but it pushes the development of multicellular life back almost another 50% to 890 million years so very exciting.

Lunokhod 2 did really well, as it was made by soviet tank designers, and they knew how to make stuff that did not break down:

The chief designer of the lunokhods (Lunokhod 1 & 2) was Aleksandr Kemurdzhian, a tank designer.

Each lunokhod was controlled by a five man team, a driver, commander, navigator, engineer and radio operator – having practiced on a simulated lunar surface.

The sweating driver was guided not by video but a succession of still images, updated every 20 seconds. He had to contend with the 2.5-second signal delay, as well as a metre-wide blind spot ahead. Lunokhod 1 had two speeds: 0.8 km/h or 2km/h, plus reverse gear. Drivers recalled details from previous images to manoeuvre safely and were dependent on shadows to make out surface relief. They did not drive during the three days of lunar noon, or when the Sun was low in the sky. Each lunar night they left the rover to hibernate.

A few interesting videos about the lunokhod rovers:

the blog that dispenses Pentagon lies has a piece on tactical cyberwarfare , in view of the American troubles in Afghanistan . Perhaps to kill any fears that the capture of deliberately low tech computers and stuff might lead to Commies gaining access to other stuff . From which we are basically supposed to understand there is no kill switch in the F-35 , at least accessible to lesser life forms . Essentially as being the most "famous" person to talk of one and moderators of forums elsewhere are still watching me closely to bring down the hammer at the first signal from Lockmart and equivalents , ours was placed by Americans , through Turkish specific software . Those 15 year olds , still following the wrongly or "halfly" translated stuff , which should have stopped ages ago , are of course wrong to attribute possession of nuclear weapons to my ilk . So , ı will do something ı will no doubt regret soon enough and it was probably covered (as in responsible parties cleared of wrongdoing) during the course of so called Aselsan Murders involving suicides of 3 engineers in the thus named company .

which is staggeringly silly in itself ? Can you imagine Lockmart delivering hundreds if not thousands of Footpads in time so that we could have some that would have tried to launch missiles while still in the hardened aircraft shelter , killing not just the pilot but the ground crew as well ? The going was supposed to be one every two years , Afghanistan , lraq , Syria in '05 , lran and us in 2009 . Lately modified to Dick Cheney's Presidency where he would be like totally challenged and opposed and stuff to discover that the godless secular Turks were like totally responsible for 9/11 . If the Congregation had not been so utterly successful , might have still happened . Without a single F-35 in Turkish inventory though .

This was so much oof. Quite embarrassing really. For those that missed the excitement, once Nauka docked it proceeded to think it needed to undocked and fired its thrusters. This spun the entire station in cartwheels (about 1deg per second of rotation) until the module ran out of fuel and they were able to cancel rotation with another thruster.

This coming from the same space agency that regularly digs at American efforts. When the first Dragon 2 docked, Roscosmos forced their cosmonauts to shelter in the Russian segment because Roscosmos didn't trust the new capsule.

Space is hard, but the head of Roscomos need to stop talking so much crap when they have failures of this magnitude regularly. Was it two years ago that a Soyuz blew up in flight and the capsule had to abort?

October 2018. On the other hand, next 59 launches over 2.5 years period were without accidents, which was a record for modern Russia.
Incident with Nauka somewhat spoiled it, looks like issues with quality control were not completely fixed yet.
