The very many questions-not-worth-their-own-thread question thread XXIX

Clearly, the Mayor of Haworth wanted an expenses-paid trip or three to Peru, whilst sorting out all the details. :)

So I hear that the Westgate Mall in Nairobi is only now reopening, three years after the attack. After so long, I'm no sure what this says about Nairobi, or Kenya more generally. Is it a coincidence that the US President is about to visit? Is this just a gesture, a show of Westernization? Is a show of Westernization worth it for Kenya?
That might actually be worth its own thread.
Apparently it wasn't even worth posting in this thread. :p

Anybody interested in a D&D stories (or a more general tabletop stories) thread? Or is there one elsewhere on the forum?

I have a particularly funny story about my cheesemage that might be good for a laugh.

Why not? They probably won't be as content-rich as (say) on Paizo's forums, but still.

Does mead just keep getting better and better with age? I remember buying a 2012 bottle and drinking it in 2014. It was good. But recently I drank a glass of one from 2006. If the concepts of "sweetness" and "mellowness" could be converted into a drink, I found it in that glass. I'm thinking I should buy a bottle and wait.

I keep searching for this story 'Awaj bin Anfaq' by the medieval scholar Zakariya al-Qazwini, purportedly about a man from another planet. Can't find it anywhere on the internet, except mentioned in occasional shoddy articles.

ummmm...k?

What questions can this thread actually answer?

There's clearly an implied question in Mouthwash' post though. Maybe he just forgot to type a sentence.

I can't really help on the issue, though.

Yea, I don't know how to pull up anything conveniently regarding the proto-science fiction other than blurbs myself. If you have access to a university library system, what I would do is go ask a librarian for help. They're amazing at finding that sort of stuff.

There's something to be said for talking to an actual person who knows the field as opposed to using a search engine.

Well what do you want me to do about it? My remark wasn't so much a response to his lack of a question as it was a response to a non-question towards which likely nobody on the board is going to be able to provide a satisfactory answer.

If you wanted to convey that you can't provide an answer you could have said "I don't know" or "I can't help"

It turns out that type of sashimi I had several months back but couldn't identify was herring.

It had an unusual crunchy texture and sweet flavour, unlike any other kind of raw fish I've eaten. I wish more sushi places around here served it.

Where did you have it?

Also, what would happen if a Black Lives Matter rally got interrupted by climate change activists?
