I was trying to figure out where to put the battery pack. A 2-stroke seemed too extreme.

My experience with, ahem, power tools is that battery packs just don't give you the kind of power for the torque you really desire in messy situations. And they tend to peter out prematurely. Gotta go to the plug-ins.
