The Walking Dead: AMC-channel series Anyone psyched?

Sorry about that. I edited to warn others.

Cool beans. :) I've read the comics, I'm just sensitive about spoilers. The spoiler-tag convention in this thread is a little odd considering comics spoilers.

Do people really find Andrea that annoying?

I thought she was one of the few non-annoying characters in Season 1 and 2.

She wouldn't shut up about her damned guns.
Spoiler :
And she shot Daryl. And she banged Shane. And now she wouldn't just say "yeah sorry Michonne I really want to stay". And she shot Daryl.

I don't dislike her, but yeah, she can be annoying.

Spoiler :
Oh man I forgot she shot daryl. Anyways, Andrea was one of THE pinnacle of the soap opera farm.

The episode with farmgirl #2 contemplating suicide (Beth, to be formal) and Andrea basically assisting her and having stupid "she should make the choice" or blah blah blah, I was in painful tears. When stupid things like this happened (in episode description on walking dead wiki):

"Andrea runs to the farmhouse after Beth's attempted suicide. Lori reports that Beth didn't cut herself deeply. "She wants to live," Andrea smiles. "

OH GEE I'LL JUST LET THIS GIRL CUT HERSELF (basically telling her to "yo try it giiirrrrlllllll make da choice") WHEN EVERYONE ELSE IS TRYING TO CONVINCE HER NOT TO, BUT I'LL PRETEND LIKE I DID A NOBLE THING GIVING HER A "CHOICE" AND SMILE ABOUT A MINOR CUT

like omgwtfbarbeque I get so mad at every action andrea does.

edit- I guess this may sum up my emotions
"Unlike her television version, Andrea did not become unstable after her sister's death. Nor was she suicidal or blamed Dale for anything.........
Andrea is noticeably more emotional in the TV series. In the series, she is seen as being overly upset about everything they come across (Rick at the department store, losing Amy, Dr Jenner's idea of suicide over facing the undead, losing Sophia, Dale's over-protectiveness, zombie hanging from tree, etc.) as her character had only a handful of major breakdowns throughout the comics. In the comics, after Amy's death she had found her destiny as the group's sharp-shooter to be a way of helping dull her emotions."

now that was comparison vs comic andrea, which I haven't read, but andrea brings unecessary (and stupid) soap opera drama to the show. That's not what I watch the show for.

Andrea is one of the characters whose scenes I dread. She's just so awful.

Give me less of her and more of Michonne.

Another day, another episode! I thought it was decent overall, and fulfilled the "andrea is an idiot" quota
Spoiler weekly andrea quota :
immediately go sleep with man of power ('cuz we all know that's how andrea rolls) [X] check
likes gladiator fights with walkers (stupid), but has to add in the classic andrea-esque twist and create drama by lying about it first [X] check
"I want to be a continue being a good shot and be helpful" -> immediately disregard wall protocol, jump over wall and stabby stabby "DATS HOW ITS DONE" [X]
etc
dies to a walker to the joy of Kennigit [ ] uncheck

note I actually think it's fine she had sex, she hadn't had interactions with anyone except michonne for like 7? months and they're all adults obviously. But for funsies I can just make fun of her

but more important things, I actually dislike the contrivedness of the episode. Obviously tons of things are contrived all the time to make series work, but this episode
Spoiler :
it's so contrived that michonne just overhears merle's encounter with maggie and glen. I'm not too sure I followed why merle would have been there anyways, except for a vague look-for-a-vehicle to go back to woodbury (though if he walked out from the start, I'm not sure why he doesn't double back). He wanted to go back to woodbury, so why would he go the same direction as michonne at all (who would be moving further away from woodbury). Not to mention she was shambling a bit from being hurt, and he would have been able to move at a comfortable speed. But they get to the same place at the same time, within probably 7-8 minutes.

Just that was wayyy too overly convenient, to have 3 separate groups all meet up at 1 random spot; I know plenty of things are done for convenience but at least other "this group meets up with that group" conveniences are a bit better: michonne was expecting to be followed and waited in ambush, michonne and andrea went to a helicopter crash in the first place, etc.

but, regardless of that contrivedness, it DOES move the plot into the inevitable/interesting cross-over and I'm looking forward to that.

Spoiler :
As for the meeting up, it seemed like both Michonne and Merle were both injured, so they probably walked at the same pace. Michonne got there first because she could just walk through the walkers, while Merle probably had to stop and deal with some on the way.

And they probably went the same way not knowing each other were going that way, IIRC Merle didn't see Michonne leave so he would have no idea where she went.

I dunno what y'all're talking about, this episode was great.

Spoiler :
Merle popping up while Michonne was watching was contrived, sure, but Joe's post made good sense. One of Michonne or Merle running into Maggie and Glenn was not terribly implausible, and they both did exactly what you'd expect from them individually. I am, however, outraged that Maggie and Glenn both failed so miserably at shooting the bastard when they had their guns on him the whole time. SHOULD'VE SHOT MERLE.

Bored with Rick's crazy time, but I guess it has to happen.

Oh I'm so totally shocked that Andrea banged the Governor. Who could possibly have seen that coming. Get off her ass, guys, it'd been a long time and he's goddamn charming.

Loved what they did with Carol. Predictable, yeah, kinda, but still loved it. And Carl sucks less than he used to.

Yah not sure if Carl was just annoying as heck last season or Carl being annoying was mostly amplified by Laurie's super annoying person.

I think a large part of Carl being such a derp was that there were a lot of adults ignoring him. Now they seem to be treating him more like a member of the group, and he's stepped up to that. I'm not sure how deliberate it is on the part of the writers, but it's definitely a good thing.

Get out of here, Carl! still makes me laugh.

Spoiler :
i thought so (that he was going crazy) anyway. that phone cant be working. what was a bit strange is that he told some other guy he was receiving phone calls and that guy didnt find it in the least fishy...

Spoiler :
No didn't you see the look on his face? He picked it up and held it to his ear and you could tell that there was no connection, which is why he gave rick that knowing look. Old man knew he was losing it. Because he's old and wise and used to be a vet, so he knows these kinds of things.
