The Walking Dead: AMC-channel series Anyone psyched?

I didn't get to watch talking dead tonight. Anything special? Any plans for Daryl and Merle or are they really just "gone"?

They didn't spill any beans on the TD.
Spoiler :

From the Promo video with Merle and Daryl, on AMC's website, it looked like he might have been trying to convince Merle to go to the prison and re-join the group. So Daryl is probably having second thoughts.

Why can't Andrea just die already?

Seriously, I dread every scene with her.

I liked that episode, but I'm not sure about some of the directions it's going.

Spoiler :
I think the writers are trying to show Andrea as taking on the burden of Woodbury since the Governor has gone insane(maybe?) and the people can't take care of themselves. But when I'm watching it I think high tailing it out of Woodbury is the only sane decision to make. Also, I thought her speech was boring.

caught up, just thought it was meh overall. no really strong emotions on way or another.

I don't even hate andrea anymore, rereading my old posts and stuff just makes me realise how hilarious she is.
anyways this episode andrea funrant (just because I'll commit to do it every episode)
Spoiler :

what happened
Karen: "He shot richard! We've all suffered, we want answers!"
Andrea: "You're right karen, we've ALL suffered. *blah blah*"

what "really" "happened":
Karen: "He shot richard! we've all suffered, we want answers!"
Andrea: "You're right karen, we've ALL suffered, and...."
Karen et al. "Sorry, who the eff are you?"
Andrea: "IM YOUR LEADER AM I NOT?"

seriously, can't wait for some andrea busting out some big Gladiator "ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED?" when the governor fights the group again or whatever.

by the way, also feel the need to share this from a user on a different site.
Spoiler :
people were complaining about even in death lori comes back to annoy them [although I personally think the lori hallucination is good]
somebody asked to look closer

I'm going to have to rewatch the whole series to see if I can find a scene that was worse than Andrea Calms the Mob.

How about "Where's Carl?" a thousand times?

she really is the worst actress of the bunch. by far.

anyway, i found out tha in the comics
Spoiler :
they stay in the prison for a pretty long time. will this be shortened in the series?

I like Andrea. She's probably not all there or making great choices at this point in the show, but she is still not a bad character.

Really? I find her so grating, and annoying. Her bad acting doesn't help her really, well, in my opinion, boring and cliche character. I really wanted the mob to not listen to her and continue panicking, would have actually given Andrea some more character.

She's playing the role they created for her. It could be that the role was miscast as sometimes happens with TV shows. Andrea from the comics has a totally different personality from what I recall. Someone like Milla Jovovich, although more fitting, would have been a bit too expensive and it would have her in competition with Rick for the lead role which is antithetical to the storyline.

Andrea is not my favorite character, by any means, but I don't hate her or wish she didn't exist.

I think so.

I still don't think Andrea is that bad, just a little annoying and 'cringey' to watch sometimes.

I am just glad Lori is dead. Her small cameo in the last episode was annoying enough, and I couldn't imagine what it would be like having her around for more episodes.

At least Carl is less annoying now that Lori is gone.

I don't blame Andrea or Laurie Holden for the terribleness of that scene. No actor could've made it not totally goddamn stupid.

Spoiler :
In the comics the long time spent at the prison was before the war with Woodbury. IIRC there was a moderate length of time between some of the battles, but for the most part they didn't stick around much longer after the war started.

anyone played the walking dead point an click?

thought it had a great story and did a good job of sucking you in with the decision system.

This episode revealed the truly poor acting of many many characters. At least it was complimented at the end with some action.

Oh and fantastic that Lori can take over 5 minutes of the show even after she is dead.

yeah, i was about to fall asleep when mustache guy got shot in the head all of a sudden.

'stache guy, we hardly knew ya...

Spoiler :
NO NEW CHARACTERS FOR THE GROUP FOR YOU

The Prisoner civilization has been eliminated!

Whose acting was bad?

Andrew Lincoln (Rick) has to be at least nominated for an Emmy. Norman Reedus (Daryl) and Michael Rooker (Merle) are absolute gold by themselves and have perfect chemistry. I'd be happy to watch an entire episode of just the two of them. I hope Dallas Roberts (Milton) gets more screen time. Sarah Wayne Callies (Lori) didn't have enough to screw up, and Laurie Holden (Andrea) actually gave an above-her-average performance in this episode. She wasn't great, but she was much less bad than she has been.

A few characters didn't have much to do in this episode. Emily Kinney (Beth) wasn't particularly engaging, but she didn't have much opportunity. Steven Yeun (Glenn) is kind of off-balance, as are David Morrissey (the Governor) and Lauren Cohan (Maggie), but their characters are in weird places. It's hard to judge whether it's the actors falling short on delivery or the writers failing to give them useful motivations. But Cohan and Morrissey have proved themselves capable before.

I was also caught completely off-guard by that interruption. Which was exactly the right way to present it.
