The Walking Dead: AMC-channel series Anyone psyched?

tonight's felt like kind of a filler, in the sense that it wasn't surprising. But that's a good thing I guess. I admit I kind of half payed attention when I watched the episode.

Spoiler :
just a couple things were filler, like the cabin part. Not that I disliked it, but I dunno, considering there have been a substantial amount of zombies around I kind of like to think senile people would be off'd by now, even if they are random cabin in the woods hick/farmer/whatever where zombies might have just not walked by

But the zombie flux has been plenty high enough (as seen on hershel's farm, various fights in the woods this season, etc). So the Rick crew go, find senile dude, use him as bait as they run out the back and.......well that's sure a way to kill 10 minutes of show. Sure it may add to the "survivalist" mentality that they're willing to straight up kill a human who poses any threat/will use anything to survive, but that's already happened like 10 times this season that it's nothing new.

Then I know other people on teh internets were afraid the "scientist" like guy in Woodbury would be the generic "smart guy that has to go around with the bullies despite it going against his conscious, who is more informed than the rest of the town", but now I don't really get his character at all. It's unlikely that he'll have a major confrontation with the leaders of woodbury (governor and his posse), it's already well established a random guy isn't going to do jack on finding a cure (to the viewer), and he seemed to be investing in OH MUSIC AND THIS CIRCLE THING WILL HELP YOU KEEP YOUR HUMANITY.

He's not an emotional person w/ family connection or something to the soon-to-be-deceased, he's not a desperate person who has lost all hope, he's not a senile person, he's not supposed to be an idiot, so what IS he doing/what is he there for?

except make andrea look competent for once, but damn, you gotta make a "hurr durr I'll make a circle will solve everything" moment to allow competency to shine?

also wasn't he supposed to have an announcement at the night of the picnic thing and then said to the governor it'll be ready in a week or something? Doesn't look like he'll whip out something smart anytime soon.

Spoiler next episode talk :
I wonder if the series will follow the comic book regarding who is going to die in this confrontation and how.

Yeah that's what I meant to say, honestly.

One thing I'm wondering, how come the zombies' clothes are always mostly intact. You'd think some would have their clothes get all threadbare and walking around naked. Of course that would be tough to show on TV.

Some of zombies have been shirtless or have rips/tears. I don't think they will show many naked zombies but it's TV. I did see one clip with the effects team that showed they are using a different gray color each season to show that zombie skin fades over time.

So a decent finale, nothing unordinary, always good to see a batch of fresh characters (and people are quite hyped up about tyreese). I liked it.

I'll add an obligatory andrea bashing, just because that's so fun to do. The internet reminded me of the whole "spoke to an expert at the CDC about the zombieness -> only advice you can give is "they turn to zombies, you haven't seen the turn before? huehuehue"

But I do somewhat like the "haven't fired a gun for 8 months because been moving around with michonne" (I don't think she would have been, at least michonne certainly wanted to law low and use sword)-> show up new to a town and you're not even a part of any of the militia that is run by the town -> "man you want me to make sure people are safe? WHAT A TRASHY JOB LEMME SHOOT COACH I GOT DA BEST SHOT F THESE PEOPLE THAT HAVE BEEN PART OF YOUR MILITIA FOR FOREVER. How about someone someone not important go do that?"

One thing about the cliffhanger (spoils, though I don't know if it's true):
Spoiler :
it shows daryl in the next season preview, i.e. that he survives. people said maybe merle is in it or implied, I'm sure people can look later. But I'm not completely sold on having 60 people yelling at you to get killed with guns and you just A-OKAY get out safely. Maybe Merle because the town at least knows him, some people may be hesitant.

imma be so mad if andrea speaks up and calms the crowd down.

Also one addition for me to that on merle and this episode:
Spoiler :
if merle lives I dunno, it's just kind of going to be the third time he's escaped a very obvious death to me. Glenn/maggie should have shot him in their little "we'll point 2 guns at you and no one shoots when he charges with a knife for a hand", and certainly I felt maggie should have shot him in trying to escape this episode. You're willing to shank a guy in the neck but the second you get a gun you just kindly point it and say something like "don't hurt glen!"?

If you're going to stab your way out at least shoot your way out, at least since I thought they had absolutely no intention of holding merle hostage or something. Maggie has no reason to not just shoot the people that tried to kill glenn and degraded her, even if she wasn't raped.

I'm fine with keeping characters around, but I'm not positive towards having a character who is the henchman role just survive 3 instances of death.

WHAT A TRASHY JOB LEMME SHOOT COACH I GOT DA BEST SHOT

That's Andrea for you.

I second the complaint about Maggie's hesitation. Totally unjustifiable.

I do not like having to wait until February. :(

Well... I decided to watch the 3rd season after all. While slightly better than the second one, I still wouldn't give it more than 5/10.

Maggie's failure or not, at least there were nothing as excruciatingly stupid as the "prisoner dilemma" they were dealing with in the farm.

That article was great... I mean... wow

so I forgot [the show] returned but I heard from a friend andrea gives a big speech.

ohmanohmanohmanohman I can't wait

edited for basic grammar much later in time

I didn't get to watch talking dead tonight. Anything special? Any plans for Daryl and Merle or are they really just "gone"?

the two redneck brothers?
guess they'll be back.
