I don't know, maybe it is the writer's fault. I just don't like how her character has never really evolved into, a, well, character. She seems to be playing some sort of trope or cliche, or at least she has been for a while now. With this latest turn of events though (in yesterday's episode), I'm thinking if they do it right they can actually give her some depth, and make her scenes interesting.

Also, I was totally caught off guard as well Lucy. That entire scene was very well done, I'm very curious to see what happens next.

Andrew Lincoln (Rick) has to be at least nominated for an Emmy. Norman Reedus (Daryl) and Michael Rooker (Merle) are absolute gold by themselves and have perfect chemistry. I'd be happy to watch an entire episode of just the two of them. I hope Dallas Roberts (Milton) gets more screen time. Sarah Wayne Callies (Lori) didn't have enough to screw up, and Laurie Holden (Andrea) actually gave an above-her-average performance in this episode. She wasn't great, but she was much less bad than she has been.

A few characters didn't have much to do in this episode. Emily Kinney (Beth) wasn't particularly engaging, but she didn't have much opportunity. Steven Yeun (Glenn) is kind of off-balance, as are David Morrissey (the Governor) and Lauren Cohan (Maggie), but their characters are in weird places. It's hard to judge whether it's the actors falling short on delivery or the writers failing to give them useful motivations. But Cohan and Morrissey have proved themselves capable before.


I was also caught completely off-guard by that interruption. Which was exactly the right way to present it.

asian guy and daughter of legless guy are abysmal and had way too much time to show that this episode.
i agree that the redneck actors do a great job.
rick does come across as unnatural at times to me, but that may just be me.
 
Its a shame, I was just getting to like Axel. I think Merle is still the most fun character to watch

Rule of thumb, whenever they try to make a character charismatic and likable, especially if its only in one episode, don't expect to see much more of them.

i was drunk during last sundays (2-17-13) episode of the walking dead and missed it. PLEASE DONT SPOIL IT. i just want to see it before the next episode. does anyone know of an encore presentation; maybe right before the next show? i have checked the AMC website and didn't find what i was looking for.

I wonder if Rick will ever snap out of it... I mean, sure, a trauma is a trauma and all but come on... It's not like someone besides the group will pity him for his pain... :shake:

What are they not portraying that they should be? Or what are they doing that they shouldn't?
 
they dont make me buy their emotions.
 
nothing to really add about this episode, except that woodbury nerd guy (milton?) continues to not actually have any purpose for existing.

also, though I guess this happened with michonne too (but she used her zombies as pack rats to carry her stuff, forget if they gave her evasion), apparently you're free to roam around zombies just because another zombie is nearby. season 1 they smothered guts on themselves to mask human scent, but I guess now it's canon that zombies get distracted by other zombies just walking along
 
I enjoy how much the writers are making everyone hate Andrea. I hope it gets worse because it's so hilariously bad.
 
well, it had tom waits.
 
The black guy/white boy comments at the prison were cringe-worthy. I felt physical pain at those lines. PHYSICAL PAIN.
