Just found out about this new cable series: The Walking Dead

Z-day survival horror. Looks like they skimmed on ethnic diversity in the principals, though.

The Walking Dead is an epic, edge-of-your-seat drama where personal struggles are magnified against a backdrop of moment-to-moment survival. A survivalist story at its core, the series explores how the living are changed by the overwhelming realization that those who survive can be far more dangerous that the mindless walkers roaming the earth. They themselves have become the walking dead.

I, for one, am stoked. Im still balls deep in Breaking Bad and Mad Men (Haven't touched Rubicon though, does anyone know if its good?), so if WD is even half as good as their other series, then I'm sure the zombies will ensure that its awesome.

I'm a reader of the comics; they're a nice contrast to the Sonic ones!

The comics are really awesome, well-drawn and well-written, so it's no wonder they decided to capitalise and make a show.

The zombies look fairly graphic so that'll always be cool; it looks like they're stretching the limits of "okay for TV."

I'll definitely be giving the show a try.

I can't wait for it. The trailers look fantastic and the comic book series it is based on is one of the best comics ever.

I'm wondering if there will be "special zombies" like we see in Left 4 Dead....

sorry to double post but...

Can we talk about this???? Specifically how kick ass its gonna be when he inevitably starts driving that tank through all those zombos?

I intended to check this out, but completely forgot about it and missed it.

The premiere episode pretty much owned, yes.

I'm another fan of the comics, have been following the TPB collections. Have to say that if they retain even half the elements from the original there are going to be some pretty messed-up things happening to our poor survivors.

was pretty surprised by this show. something I'd expect from the Brits more after their big brother zombie show stint.

very decent episode as evidenced by the fact that I suddenly had the urge to do "other stuff" during tense moments yet still continued to watch once the icky/tense parts were over.

Good first episode, though it only made me realise how much of the early comics I've completely forgotten since reading. Looking forward to the rest of the series.
