Defenders of the Stone, and that would make it much to powerful of a wonder... the only issue being the age of The Stone. It would have to have the stone at creation, since it wouldn't work very well for a 3000 year old monolith to be build right before the End Times.

How 'bout something like this:

makes x amount of unhappy laborers content
(for Randland civs)

or

"Dark One's own luck"
increased army value
(for Andor... Mat's Civ)

Maybe the foxhead should be for a different country... maybe Caihrien since that's where Mat recieved it... or was it in the one in Tear? ANyway, when he had his firt battle using his new skills, it as in Caihrien.

Mat got the foxhead when he was in Rhuidean, so we could incorporate it with the Aiel. Since we've discussed having resources attached to certain civs in order for wonder and unit distribution, one possibility would be to assign the tech to Andor (Mat's civ) but then require the Aiel's resource. That way it would be much like he needed their approval to go to Rhuidean and receive those answers. But that's just off the top of my head. :)

_____
side note: if we did agree to something like this, the aiel would probably charge a considerable amount for the use of the resource, which would be good b/c of the cost Mat had to pay for his answers.

The Stone could easily be pre-placed. With just the defensive bonus, it wouldn't be overpowering from the beginning.

I like the Horn of Valere as a Wonder, but where should its resource be? Shayol Ghul? Shienar? Toman Head? I think the last is best, but they all seem rather imperfect.

Hmmm... Do we have the White Tower on the list of Wonders yet? That should be pre-placed in Tar Valon and perhaps give a boost to science and maybe generate Aes Sedai (every... 20 turns to make it weak).

EDIT: The best thing about preplaced Wonders is that we don't need Wonder Splashes for them.

I imagined the Horn of Valere as one of the wonders that wasn't linked to any resources, available to all the Randland civs. Gives everyone a chance for the "hunt." :) Plus then we don't have to worry about resource ties and location.

edit: we could then use "The Great Hunt of the Horn" as the tech

wow this is great i myself am now buzy at the 8th book and i have a idea. for eas sedai they need a resource like "born with the spark" of something like that and you can place it in countries where there is old blood.
and that resource is very sensitive for dissapearing.
and reappearing.

Very cool idea. It would be intense in the Two Rivers and in the Aiel Waste, and pretty sparse elsewhere. (Would Wise Ones require the same resource? Only some can channel.)

My post seems to have killed the thread...

OTOH, we could give the Aes Sedai a number of graphicless Wonders that produce Aes Seda every few turns and have them expire as time goes on, simulating the decline in Aes Sedai numbers.

Sorry Cuivienen... isn't you, just that both of us mod creators are extremely busy right now, especially since classes have started. Good news: I got some time off this next week, so should be able to devote a day to the MOD. Cam, any luck on the unit creation?

About Aes Sedai: I REFUSE to build a unit that can do anything but defend themselves, who are Aes Sedai. No debate on this subject... Aes Sedai *WILL NOT* and *CAN NOT* have even 1 on attack. Wise Ones, Seanchan channelers (Can't for the life of my recall their names, know it's in the Old Tongue), The King, and Seafolk, can have attacking channeler based units, but we can't make them TO powerful, and they need to be expensive to prevent people from making a crap load of Aes Sedai type units.

One idea I had was to make Aes Sedai worker units with defense. The would fufill a gap for workers type units, as well as giving a place for the Aes Sedai where they won't have to do battle, except to defend.

Why not have a multi-unit for all Aes Sedai but the Red? The multi-unit would consist of a Warder and an Aes Sedai. The Warder would have the attack animation while the Aes Sedai and warder both had defense animations. If you did this, it would have to be somewhat expensive as there are two persons involved in the unit.

Just a thought......

My computer crashed this past weekend, and took just about everything with it. I've only got it up and running again about half an hour ago. I had almost all of the animations done for an Asha'man unit (default, fidget, fortify, attack A, and almost all of attack B). I still hadn't modeled the clothing/props for it yet though. But you can imagine how furious I was when my computer went down. I'm reinstalling everything now, and I'm going to get right back down to work once I do. But this setback will do just that, set me back a bit. But at least now I'm getting the hang of it. I may even post a preview of it once I get back to where I was, but without clothing and special effects (fireballs & lightning) it probably won't look like much. I'll post again later to let you all know how it's coming along. Until then...

Sounds good. But since you don't have either 3D Studio Max or Poser, it wouldn't do much good for me to send them to you until they're in the final stages, your computer might not recognize the file types before then.

Speaking of BIX's though, next time we catch each other online shoot me a copy of the latest since I lost mine in the crash. Cool?

I've got everything up and running again (after 2 days :( ), so I'll be getting back to work. But it'll still be a little while before I get the first one out there. Gotta make it good (perfect ;) ).
