Okay, what exactly has all your serious talk and preaching done to fix this or change anything? What has your "in your face" style of bringing up such issues done besides alienate moderates and fence-sitters? I mean, I met Iraqis and Afghans who had no trouble cracking jokes about their situation, and they are certainly worse off and facing greater injustices than anyone in the Western world. So if some of the worst off people on this planet can still find humor in their situation, what's your excuse?

If stuff as described in the story you linked go down, other cops should be reporting that crap. But most of the time it seems that they don't, because they would be ostracized and would lose out on promotion opportunities. So they don't "rat" on each other, and there's no independent commission or anything of the sort set up to that oversees the cops, so.. yeah, you end up with problems like these, where the cops are able to get rough with people, break the law, profile racially, and nobody does anything about it.
