Things we must solve before V29

I don't blame you for wanting to proceed. But I warn that this bug is going to end up enforcing the need for a patch. SO experienced this bug as well.
He just experienced the invisible feature issue which is not related.

Well, according to the behavior I saw on my wife's system, its entirely related. Not the missing tree deal, but the inability to attack a unit, it disappearing when approached, sometimes blanking out of the game entirely. Some of his recent reports did show this issue but its weasely because if you reload a game, the offending unit won't have the problem again (sometimes that unit will come back into the reloaded game at a different plot or just not come back at all though.)

Not really, its because of the Rev On, i keep informing everyone about this of Revolutions. Each time (unless its repeatable CTD) will change to work different every time you re-load it.

She's not playing with revolutions and I don't see any cause for her computer itself to have a unique problem. Pretty sure others will experience this bug but we'll have to eventually find a good test case to debug.

It actually seems to me like somehow the units are losing a solid grip on what map id they are on and are slipping into another dimension somehow. :lol:

Ah well. We'll catch it and nail it down eventually I'm sure.

Now you have me concerned for playing V29. How many versions back does this bug go anyway?

It has only shown up in two instances, one as Thunderbrd said on his wife's computer and one that SO got. I have not heard any other instances of it and it doesn't seem to be widespread, so I went ahead with release last night. I wouldn't be too worried.

@Koshling: The revision was 5139.

It started showing up extremely recently and there was one other report. I can find which one if I go back a couple pages in the bugs thread.

EDIT: Here it is! This was the first report on the issue that we received. He then later reported, which concurs with what we see in my wife's game, that the problem was resolved by reloading the game. But it doesn't stop there... it does keep happening later if a game has this issue it seems.

It's a nasty little bug but we'll find it eventually and if experienced and it becomes a problem, close out the game and reload. That, oddly enough, clears it for a bit. And it must be somehow setting specific due to there being such a select few who experience it. On my test games I've not been able to replicate it either.

I was not aware of it. Is it a property of the save, or a property of your user settings at the time of the load?

Edit - infinite scout building bug fixed now (see SVN thread)

I am not sure. Someone else reported the same issue and renamed the list files to something that could not be used and it solved the problem. But it also removed the lists so that they could not be used. This worked for me as well and I have not used the list feature since.

There was an issue with lists actually having a short total size limit because of some message issue which I fixed some time ago.
